  1. Mike was VTP thru and thru. No-one was more about the magic and guest experience than Mike. He was also a wonderland man prior to being a VTP man. this isn’t a retirement, he’s been pushed out in a restructure, and VTP invariably will be worse for it.
  2. Not exactly the compliment i think you are going for But if you mean complete sub par performance laklustre offerings cheap budgeting and in general a total steady decline over time then yes vtp thru and thru for sure Ill just standby for the inevitable new head of entertainment announcement at the place up the road where all ex village staff end up
  3. I agree this is pretty egregious on Villages part. If there were near misses in the past there should have been changes made to eliminate that risk, as with the statement from WPHS it appears there could be more factors that lined up that resulted in the accident.
  4. Maybe some fresh blood will bring new ideas and help steer them in a different direction. Metallica were also incredible in the 80s, but these days their music is just average.
  5. I know you're saying "dreams are free" BUT, "Once upon a time" , there was not just one, but several GC Theme Parks built on such whimsical things made from magical sparkles & shit, with lollipops, Unicorns and the like.. yeah, look, go on, I know you remember a time 😁 Sadly MW and VRTP have departed from reality & continue diving down some sort of crazy arse path of I dunno... WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK?? @DaptoFunlandGuy you're spot on, of course the average Mum & Dad have no idea what they're talking about, - THAT'S exactly my point! It's about engaging with Customer, genuinely taking interest in your audience and making them feel like they're a part of the journey (like it or not!). I mean, how hard is it to make your own sandwiches and wraps in Park ? How hard is it to create your own sweet treats and how hard is it to build your own unique brand with a memorable customer experience with a consistency unmatched by a genuine effort to make sure every visitor's day exceeds that of the one before? Passion is where it all starts and that's exactly where they need to go back to.
  6. Given he updated the instagram post to include "A restructure means a reset. So, here we go…" I would hazard a guess it was not his choice. Another sign of trouble within VRTP.
  7. Obviously the case still has to play out but it seems very similar to the crash that happened on smiler where the block brakes functioned as intended, but operators that thought they knew better overrode the PLC without a visual inspection of the ride. Did village not learn from this accident which affected the industry worldwide? Especially when safety at the parks has been under a microscope in the last 10 years. Do fucking better village, they're very lucky that the lady wasn't killed
  8. The MW layout has always been a shemozzle but today, it's a painful ball ache, at best. Right now, the s/western corner of the Park is lonely, sad as f*CK & boring (regardless if WWF is open or not) + if you're sans smaller kids in your group the n/eastern Looney side is another no-go zone! As a veteran Cast Member, It's hard not to be critical.. sorry I just can't help myself, as much as I try to ignore the little things on any given visit, some things are hard to look past (don't even get me started πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ on the OZ land, seriously wtf??), but tell me I'm not the only 1 who finds the place has entrenched itself with pointless dead ends.and the worst crowd flow I've ever experienced in a Theme Park, globally. All criticism aside, I must say the majority of Cast Members are the best in years and deserve to be properly recognised for their hard work and efforts. Cast aside, being repeatedly funnelled up and down the same Main Street, Christ knows how many times on any given day, is the fundamental reason why most people leave the Park feeling dissatisfied. It's monotonous, mundane and repetitive. Simple solution* - Management just need to set foot in the Park, (during trading hours) & take a look through the eyes of all visitors - especially the Holidaying families. Take a seat with them, shout the kids a front seat ride pass, buy Mum & Dad a coffee & take the time to have a chat, engage, listen & learn about how to reconnect with what Movie World has struggled with for far too many years - an industry leading relationship between Guest and Cast. We all know there are simple & obvious fixes to improve circular crowd flows around MW, but tbh opinions of Theme park enthusiasts on sites like this, which to be frank, no-one knows about is entirely useless. That's why the only way to fix things is for them to go back to basics, get those precious executive's arses out of their casual clothes, put on a uniform like everyone else, get out of their cushy office (and that goes for you too, Clarke!) hit the pavement, get to know your employer (the customer).& open your hearts and minds! The rest will work itself out πŸ‘
