  1. 12 credits is also such a random number to choose as the base cost. I mean why not 10 and keep it all even? Hell, it’s all digital so why not just make it 1 or 2 credits?
  2. Popped in today and had a look. Decent array of machine - probably about 30 - all new so not ones that have been moved from the previous arcade or elsewhere pricing is a little crazy. Every game costs 12 credits. I’ve attached pricing in the photos
  3. Are they actually closed or just they didn’t get the message to take the piece of paper down ?
  4. F**k. Was totally looking forward to riding a penguin next week…
  5. Haven't been to either yet this year, but heading to both next weekend On previous years, yes i enjoy that laser light show at SW and the benefit of riding Leviathan at night, but ST at night is equally great, so really the big one up card for SW is the show, and DW just dont have the location/set up for such a thing. I'd love to see them lean into the a haunted train ride, that they did once a few years back to a very basic nature. Think there is a tonne of potential to flesh that out to something unique and brilliant that only they can offfer. All in all however, i find night events at DW much more easy to navigate, more spacious, easier to get food/seats etc at - so generally i'd lean towards preferring Happy Halloween over Spooky Nights
  6. Be amazed if he’s not dead or in jail tbh….
  7. That may be the manufacturer of Flash’s requirement. Which could have increased due to its being a relocation, or due to having new seats and harness installed. also again, where is the 500 number from? if you tell me industry sources, then again that’s just conjecture. Funny you didn’t quote the bit of my post that unequivocally refuted your statement that states mandate testing hours…
  8. Not in Qld they don’t, which is what is relevant here. you can find all requirements for the commission of new rides on the below link, zero mention of minimum testing hours, only that they meet manufacturer standards https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/118501/amusement-devices-cop-2023.pdf There is also people online who say they work for Mack and typical rides only require 100-150 cycles. So there is nothing definitive as Mack don’t publish their requirements publicly. JR has already done a test cycle, so I am not sure how that is applied in this case. The coaster weaves around the land so a large proponent of the theming land-wise is outside the envelop aside from the temple area, so that work can continue whilst commissioning begins
  9. Manufacturer, yes. State, no. there is no hour based requirement. Only state requirement is manufacturers recommendations are met id like to know where you pulled 1000 cycles for ST and DCR from. I believe it was substantially less. Only thematic elements within a certain clearance of the track need to be fully in place prior to test cycles to be completed
  10. Markets have announced they are not back until the 8th Nov
  11. The markets definitely won’t run on Diwali night as the whole park is essentially privately booked, however they also won’t be having “Australia’s biggest party” during the day on a work/school day” so providing there is any accuracy on the date by Nov 1, it can only be a tie in with the markets
  12. With the night markets now closed due to Halloween nights until Nov 1 - my guess is this is just a big relaunch celebration
  13. It was in 1999. Whilst streaming technology existed, it was in its infancy and I highly doubt it was live streamed by wonderland a few news reports can be found online however, such as this https://www.facebook.com/thewinnerissydney/videos/1617105535084666/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
  14. Admittedly i havent seen Jaggs photos, but my understanding is they are just static sets for a character photo. If i had not gone last year, then sure thats something that would add interest to attending the event, but for me personally, a couple of photos ops is not enough to warrant a repeat visit with no new mazes on board. I understand it is clearly a financial decision, but i think it was a poor one to not at least have ONE new maze. Make that the hero maze and have the other 4 as repeats, then you are spiking interest again.
  15. People with memberships still got their free FN ticket through til 2022 when they essentially disbanded the concept if memberships were still a thing, I’d still have one and despite the lack of fresh mazes I’d still go this year and they’d get more than my ticket cost back in food and experience sales. However without that it included I’m not willing fork out that ticket price for a rehash of last year FWIW I did purchase tickets last year and despite it not being sold out was underwhelmed at the offering, and the crowd management which appeared worse than other years despite apparently less people
  16. If by “this” you mean panic rooms, they have been a thing for at least 5 or so years now
  17. There is no doubt for teens and young adults WnW is the pick, it’s the “cool” option… but I’m with dapto here in saying if I want a relaxing day with my son/family, it’s WWW. We still go to WnW a few times each season, but it’s always chaotic, even getting a park is a mission in summer. WWW you can mosey in, get a deckchair anytime, and don’t feel like your half a km away if you want to go back for a drink
  18. Ridiculous elevator screens and off timed animations need a full overhaul
  19. Wouldn’t think so. barrier fence at the end of the Main Street shops and another at kickback cove and there is a direct exit route straight to the carpark for heavy vehicles. Just means those on Main Street wanting to head to Gold Coaster and shockwave have to go via Dreamland
  20. It covers that a lot more than any other park would. They just need to ensure they don’t have 2 other flats down consecutively at any other time during the year to not piss off locals At the end of the day It is all marketing strategy for the day trip and interstate market. There is enough buzz from Rivertown to drive attendances through 2025. King Claw is spaced out enough to pull back return trips for those who checkout Rivertown Xmas/easter
  21. They would want to give Rivertown 12 months of clear air in terms of being the newest thing, then when the excitement of the new area wanes…. Bam… king claw opens. I’m sure they could get it built in a shorter timeline if they wanted to, but there is no benefit to do so
