Sea World has pushed the maintenance end date of Jet Rescue to now finish on the 12th of June and reopen on the 13th. Leviathan has also now had a temporary closure added, 12th to the 13th. So... that means that on the 12th of June, Vortex & Storm Coaster will be the only thrill rides operating. Any thoughts about these? At least for the Levithan closure there was originally a closure from the 10th to the 20th of June, maybe they realised they fkd up and do actually need the closure or is this VRTP trying to cut operating costs as much as possible.

Well, if that’s the case and I think it is, that would mean that this video is almost 2 months old. It’s only been 3 weeks since the 6 week closure was announced so highly doubt that this is ‘recent’ -

New promo posted on TikTok i’m assuming it’s also on Instagram & Facebook. v14044g50000cpha3f7og65nj50af6b0.mp4 Notice SE flying around in a clip. -
Jaggs Journeys posted a Sea World update, here are a few interesting maintenance screenshots. https://youtu.be/t3x5tJWbhwc Trident - Reopening ? Looks done... (I thought it had panels on the rides gondola that covered the inside of it.) I wonder when it'll start testing and if it will reopen for the upcoming school holidays. As of today, it's been 111 days since it was last open. Patrick's Jellyfish Frenzy - Boots' Banana Boogie Removed completely, I'd assume its at Movie World being worked on /s Jet Rescue All scaffolding down, the reopening was pushed back by a day... no sign of the 2nd train in the storage bay. Former Vikings Revenge Station Definitely looks like they're connecting that food court up to Storm Coaster/JR tunnel. They've started painting the VRTP Signature Timber near the food court. Jaggs predicts a potential flat ride could go in the space. I'd like to think that but doubt it. Looks like markings for utilities, there are orange lines coming out of the silver box a few seconds later in his video. Castaway Bay - Battle Boats Anyone know what's with all the tape markings on the rides trough?

Is that taken in ultra wide? Didn't realise it was that big of a space. Looks like they've started surveying the walls (assuming that the white pieces of paper on the SM logo and the back wall in the doorway above the wet floor sign) for precise measurements etc... only a matter of time before I think we'll see a skip bin come and the work walls back up probably around the whole ride plaza but leaving FSF's exit accessible. Also a bit weird that all the lights are on... are they usually always left on inside there? MW currently has the ride listed to reopen on the 1st of July... doubt the queue will be ready by then but it does seem like it's only demolition of some non-load bearing walls installing 'pigeonholes' with a sliding door, bit of painting, replastering and some metal railings but then again the concepts that MW has shared don't really fully show how the space will work still looking forward to this much needed improvement! and of course riding the ride again.

I understand your point about generating buzz and hype with older photos. It wasn’t my intention to criticise the park’s efforts to build excitement. I realise now and if I had my time again I wouldn't have worded it the way it was, but the photos even if they’re older, can still serve a valuable purpose and they do in this case. My comment was meant to highlight the discrepancy between the photos and the current state of the precinct. However, I understand now that the park might have strategic reasons for releasing certain photos at specific times. Your explanation about scaffolding makes sense. I apologise if my comment came off as overly critical. As I said, if I had my time again, I wouldn't have worded it the way it was. I was attempting to point out what I perceived as an issue with the photos, but I understand that there could be valid reasons for obscuring certain details. Yeah, these photos are awesome. Your point about maintaining surprises of the precinct is well taken... and I should've thought of that. I do appreciate the effort that goes into these updates and the work done by the park to engage with enthusiasts like us. My intention was never to undermine their hard work. -

Would be nicer if they were up to date. First & Third photo is old... the lift hills? are missing their catwalks for Kansas Twister and iirc they were installed sometime late March. All photos that include flight of the Wicked Witch are also missing its catwalk railings, again iirc early to mid March. The shots up close of the ride are very cool where you can see what they've done to smooth the track joints! It's pretty obvious they've used something to hide some things... and done it poorly, it's not even legible what it is/was and is blurry, zoom in you'll see what im talking about (the worst offender is the first one). Don't get me wrong these photos are awesome.. and to the GP they couldn't care less about when the photo was taken. But... when these potentially could've been taken 2 months ago, seems like they pulled it out of the archives to once again generate buzz/hype. More recent photos can be found here. Anyone know where this was taken from, I'm assuming its near SE's final break run and one of those doors were left open. it Basically confirms that the land will have a pre show where you enter in to the Emerald City then watch something and suddenly you're in Kansas! I wonder what the loose article policy will be for this.. let me guess it will go on their attractions page too /s. On another note, how will guests exit this land? Will there be a *end* show to transport you back to the Emerald City/Park, or will you get dumped back in Emerald City or have an exit along the back of SDSC and into the Doomsday Area. I'm more so interested in what the Superman Loc.... is. Superman Lockout Procedures maybe? Also, the new maintenance website states Superman Escape will reopen on Tue 28th of May... I'm assuming MW just picked a random date... but who knows! -
This was basically confirmed by the park to not be true. I was informed a while back that the Indrivetec LSM Stators that INTAMIN uses are capable to launch the train to 0-100 (allegedly 100kmh doesn't feel like it anymore) from a rolling start aka the train wouldn't stop at the launch for the countdown. But this replacement of the launch would create a lot of other issues for the ride. A - There just isnt enough space at all to fit a spike let alone the whole switch track mechanism. B - Clearance issues for the ride, the ride swoops through the building multiple times. A new launch system would result in new trains and these coaster trains are no longer made to be as low to the track as possible and now feature exposed seating. Even TT2 by Zampera has this new raised seating by setup similar to DC Rivals HyperCoaster. The other thing that I'm interested in is if they're getting INTAMIN out to also inspect and try to help them with Doomsday Destroyer and maybe something for FSF... seems like a long trip for one ride. Basically, I could see this coming like this coming to the ride once WoZ & Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster open.

The park confirmed this year that they are repainting it in this post. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/ooZnsPBvRD8EqFUn/ This sudden reopening of DC Rivals just proves that Movie World is capable of quick maintenance times. If it reopens in the coming days it would be one of the quickest annual maintenance periods ever? If it opens before the 27th of May it won’t even have been closed for a month. Is it possible that they’ve only completed the works on one train… maybe but this whole SE extended closure has proven that the park is capable and should at least set the standard for ride closures moving forward. (While they’re at it make Wild West Falls reopen earlier too!) My guess for the repainting works to recommence would probably be as soon as Fright Nights finish to just before White Christmas. They don’t seem to have much planned maintenance scheduled at that time too. I could also imagine the park would cancel the repaint all together, this must’ve been a costly decision.

Thought I was tripping with @REGIEs response… But no it’s just not there. Anyone know what actually happened to the 2nd train?
-
Haven't seen it in years, and I do visit the park frequently enough. Not even over the peak summer period they had the 2nd train in the storage bay, so it must be used for parts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

When do we think it will be scheduled to open... Middle or end of May? Will they have a soft opening?

Both of VRTPs SBF Visa rides are under maintenance, Trident and Martian the Marvin: Cosmic Boom. Tridents scheduled maintenance was from 12 Feb - 14 Mar 2024 and yet it is still under maintenance. Same with Martian the Marvin: Cosmic Boom, it was scheduled originally for 12 Feb - 22 Mar 2024 and it's been extended until 20 May, 2024. Seems like they deliberately grouped the rides maintenance periods together, but it seems to've bitten them in the ass. What did they do to both of rides that has lead to these delays in reopening (M&M:CB) and the other one (Trident) not certain when it will reopen. I was at Sea World on the long weekend and I tried my best to get a photo of Tridents maintenance but it's just awkward to do but here's my best description of what's happening. The whole ride gondola section (the thing that climbs the tower) is still being reassembled? The panels are off on the sides and you can see all the inner working of it. Lots of ladders around but no work actively happening disappointing to see but clearly there are some issues? It does look like it's closer to reopening as it from what I could see all of the chairs were attached. To my surprise they were actually working on Jet Rescues' Maintenance on a weekend! Very hard to get a photo of as they've put up a black mesh material that just doesn't let you take a decent picture but you can look through it in person. Most of the track is covered in scaffolding with white parts all throughout the track, possible repainting or smoothing of joints of the track? I'm not sure. I could also see maintenance staff working on what I assumed was the train as it was the load station part from the lift hill of Storm. On another note I've never been able to find what happened to the 2nd train for Jet Rescue? Are the using it for parts, or the fact that the ride never seems to have a queue longer than 10 minutes deeming 2 train operations not necessary. If they want a new train for it, buy it from the SBNO clone of the ride at Wonderland Eurasia.

This new maintenance page is horrible. In a 'recent' TikTok that Movie World posted about Wild West Falls (link), the amount of people that had no clue that WWF existed at MW was alarming, same with DC Rivals HyperCoaster but mostly referred to as Joker, once again an interstate tourist glancing at the page will have no clue on what the ride is . By removing what the ride images, interstate tourists will have no clue what the rides are. The lack of functionality that the page has is ridiculous; gone are the days of being able to easily view it, even if the design was 'outdated'. This brings up a crucial aspect of user experience: function over form. If something looks beautiful but doesn’t actually work properly, is it successful? I understand the style they're going for, but when the orange and green status colors are so similar that on my first glance I had to really analyse what the page was trying to convey, it's just not really that good. ✨ Picture this ✨, a maintenance page should serve its purpose efficiently, providing clear information without causing confusion or frustration. This new version falls short of this basic requirement. It seems like MW has failed to prioritise functionality in their design of this page. Not to mention this trend of form over function also occurs on the Park Hours page, as you have to scroll down to find the park hours, why is this not displayed at the top of the page and why are they promoting the app so much. Also its worth noting that all the animations on the site play in a non stop loop which as a general rule of thumb just isnt a great idea for accessibility reasons (homepage), when you hover over links on the buy tickets page they dissapear (tickets). Lastly, why does the open menu button in the navigation bar on the right side open it in the left side... once again poor design. I wonder how long it will take before we see this same design applied to Sea World & Wet n Wild!

The only time I've ever seen Movie World offer a FULL refund was for the removal of Virtual Queue. As a long time passholder of Movie World the pricing is insane, better off heading down to Sea World for "better" food offerings and pricing, with arguably better park specific merchandise. Another nail in the coffin for me is how much DC Rivals Backwards seat has gone up.... remember the days of $10 rides. How much longer till that absurd $25 for Levy goes up to $30+! It's not just you.... The WWF crew in my opinion is the rudest in the park, i'd say they are more focused on talking to each other (ride op cabin/ride attendants & grouper), they ignore guests and rudely instruct them to do something (as you've mentioned) are all things i've experience and seen them do.
