I never noticed it was gone until tonight. Farewell Sea World Monorail a true icon in Australian Transportation History, I think was the last operating monorail in Australia. NOLr_SeaworldMonorail_0505_1000k.mp4 I'd assume that these 2 closures are to allow for the removal of the track around Leviathan and Jet Rescue.

Already gone from the parks maps too.

I knew you’d have something to say, and I appreciate the perspective. Maybe the whole "Hollywood" name isn’t the best fit for the precinct; instead, it could be called the "Studios" section of the park. This area could feature a behind-the-scenes show about what goes into making movies, along with a family coaster that delivers a great storyline without relying on IP—something like Jungle Rush, which has an entirely in-house storyline and theme. I get that movie parks have that “anything goes” ideology because everything is supposed to be a film set—Universal Studios really embraces that "what the camera sees" approach. But at least for my idea, focusing on the “Movie Studios” aspect of the park’s name would be a good direction. Imagine flagship attractions like Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster and something similar to the Movie Park Germany Studio Tour Coaster going around the area. On Main Street, I wasn’t suggesting that IP-themed shops should be removed. Selling IP merchandise is what a Main Street does, and that’s perfectly fine. My point was more about keeping the overall area free from IP-specific theming, like Gotham City Cafe being right on Main Street. Did you forget that Rio Bravo Outfitters is already down there? Honestly, Wild West Falls is fine as it is. The time will come when it eventually goes, but I’m not looking forward to that day. Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster isn’t even permanently closed, yet people are reacting as if it is At the end of the day, these are just my thoughts on what I’d like to see and what I think the park needs. I'm allowed to have my own opinion/thoughts at the end of the day right?

I feel like the lands/precincts in the park are thematically confusing at Movie World. For example, Gotham City Cafe is located next to an Ice Cream Parlour on Main Street, opposite Dirty Harry’s and beside Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster. While this might have made sense with Arkham Asylum's connection to the area, it feels out of place now. When you enter the park, you immediately see the DC Rivals sign on the left, Superman Escape straight ahead, and the Hollywood sign to the right. However, what's missing is an actual Hollywood section. The park loves its fake soundstage buildings like Stage 14, but it needs a fully fleshed-out Hollywood area. Plus, the park is overdue for a family-friendly dark ride coaster that’s tame and suitable for everyone. I propose splitting the park into six distinct sections: DC Super Heroes (Purple): This area is already a cornerstone of the park, but it could really benefit from having a dedicated restaurant. Maybe relocating Gotham City Cafe to this section would make more sense thematically, helping the area feel more complete. Wizard of Oz (Green) Main Street (Yellow): This area is classic and works well as long as it remains free from any specific IP theming. It’s supposed to be the heart of the park, so keeping it simple and welcoming is key. Kids WB Fun Zone (Red): This area is in desperate need of an overhaul. It's frustrating to see former attraction spaces just sitting unused, especially when the existing styles — like Road Runner, Cosmic Boom, the new arcade, and the original buildings — clash so much. This area could be reimagined to be more cohesive and engaging for families, possibly by updating or replacing some of the older elements. Hollywood (Orange): This is where the park could really shine. Imagine walking into a more authentic Hollywood, with soundstages, street shops, and film-related stuff everywhere you look. The hideous midway games could either be re-themed or just removed to make space for new attractions. Honestly, a new flat ride or a coaster in this area—something like Movie Park Germany's Studio Tour—would be awesome. If they pull it off right, it would finally make that whole area make sense thematically. I wouldn't be mad if they demolished the Show Stage Building to make way for this attraction; however, looking at it, there seems like that there is enough space to fit a ride like the Studio Tour in there. Adding a flat ride on top of this would really make this part of the park perfect. Wild West Falls (Brownish): This area is already well-done and doesn’t need to be changed. It should stay just as it is.

I was pointing out the maintenance schedule and the impact on SW Spooky Nights, noting that Jet Rescue is closed for one of the event days and we go back into the maintenance season. When the maintenance schedule was released at the end of 2023, it indicated 47 scheduled days of closure for the year. However, factoring in the upcoming closure, we're now looking at a total of 69 scheduled days. I've also accounted for an additional 7 days when the ride was unexpectedly closed. It seems straightforward, but sometimes even the basics are overlooked—much like recognising the color of apples.
-
This is more maintenance-related, but Leviathan has been closed for a total of 69 scheduled days. Adding probably an extra 7 days of unplanned maintenance or the ride opening hours late, the ride has most likely spent a total of 76 days (2 Months 16 Days) not operating as planned. This is considerably more than originally planned, as Leviathan was scheduled to be closed for a total of 49 days for maintenance spread out over this year.
-
Just noticed that Jet Rescue will be closed on the 25th of October during the event. I hope that SW won't be stupid and that the ride will be open that evening. But who knows. And then as soon as the event is over... we go back into maintenance season.
-
Do we think Trident will be operational for this event?... it's advertised as being operational.

Rebel Coaster Incident Investigation Concluded
TV15 replied to Naazon's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Disney lets you take just about anything on their rides. Incredicoaster, Expedition Everest, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (just to name a few) all have these same restrictions. I guess Tron is comparable to SE here, with no loose articles allowed at all.- 13 replies

Cedar Point went with a manufacturer that had never built a roller coaster on the scale of Top Thrill Dragster. It has always been speculated that CP went with the cheapest manufacturer, Zamperla. If they had chosen Intamin, as they should have, would we be seeing these issues? Probably not. Do I think that whenever Zamperla has a fix for the ride that it will operate reliably, yes. But just give them time. During past extended downtime, I happened to be there on the day it randomly opened. Everything was working and triggered on time, with the exception of the outside smoke rings. Here's a recent POV of the ride, everything looks to be working correctly. This. Intamin can put LSMs on the base of the top hat if needed (e.g., Storm Coaster UAE). But this seems like something that might happen within the next 5 years. It's an older ride, and I'm sure it has cost the park a lot. VRTP has put themselves in a tricky position here with FSF being in the helix. If we get any sort of retrack of SE, this will impact the ride. If they want new trains with higher heartlines and potential clearance issues, this will impact the ride. If they want to extend the layout in some form, this will also affect the ride. I'm sure VRTP doesn't want to throw out FSF in 2027, which is only 3 years away.

a la The Flash: Speed Force. I could definitely see something happening to Superman Escape, like removing the hydraulic launch and replacing it with LSMs, as the ride is approaching 20 years. I'd assume this would take place when Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster reopens and they've installed a functional replacement for Doomsday. It would be a big capacity hit for the park, so I just hope we don't get the same surprise closing for SE as we did for SDSC. As for Sea World, the castle, VRLF load/unload station, and the plot beside JR all seem like the next expansion spot. I'd like to see a high-capacity dark ride in place of the castle, a family-thrill flat ride in VRLF, or a few permanent quick-service popup food stores. I'd love sitting around there watching Storm and JR go by. Jet Rescue is another area that could use some attention. I love the ride, but some days those restraints can be awful. For the JR expansion plot, I'd love to see a modern Vekoma thrill coaster, something like Shockwave or Lech Coaster. If Dreamworld unveils something big and thrill-based, which I have a feeling they might, VRTP will respond in some way—either at Sea World or Movie World. I could see MW's response being a complete overhaul of the Kids WB Fun Zone or utilizing some of that space behind WWF for a dark ride. If they tied the dark ride into the theme of WWF with an interesting storyline and immersive theming, it could be a huge hit for the park. I'd assume SW would just add another thrill-oriented coaster. And for the last time, the Gold Coast does not need a mack extreme spinner but I could see Dreamworld purchasing one.

You're right, these new prices are AWESOME! I hope that DC Rivals stays at this price and does not fluctuate too much still remaining as a special occasion kind of purchase. Leviathan Backwards, $10 If it stays this price I'll be doing it most visit now, but I wonder how much the price will fluctuate with what i'm assuming variable pricing.

Looks like Trident might reopen any day now. All the fencing has been removed and the ride looks reassembled. I'm thinking sometime next month but Jaggs said end of this year... Credit: Jaggs Journeys

I wonder if the place up the road will take notice or even give us an off peak price. I'd much rather 2 rides on this spinning than 1 ride backwards on DCRHC.
-
I'm very interested in some of the new features they've listed for the game on the steam page. Multi Player, Object Scaling, New Scenery on rides, and a proper skip the queue/single rider lines for rides, just to name a few. The new Water Slides stuff is cool but I would've preferred it as a DLC if it meant we got transfer tracks / maintenance sheds. I hope this won't be a flop like CS2, I guess that on the 31st of July we will know what the game is actually like to play.
-
This is why all attractions need test seats. I've ridden enough rides and spent way too much time in queues that when I see the disappointment and embarrassment of people lining up for the rides and not being able to ride as they dont meet the minimum close points of the restraint, you feel for them. In the nicest way possible, all eyes are on you in this scenario, one that the park puts you in even though they claim to be as inclusive as possible. 👏 all 👏 attractions 👏 need 👏 test 👏 seats 👏 Hope that you had a great a great day at SW, it can be hit or miss , did Leviathan open on time?
-
Yesn’t. Good day yes, bad day no. I’ve had it open in light rain some days other days closed because of heavy rain. Lightning also plays a part in the heavy rain mix.

Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
TV15 replied to Park Addict 93's topic in Theme Park Discussion
When you got off at the unload station did you notice the person there pressing a green button while walking around the train. I did and it's the first time I've noticed it. Anyone got any clue what it is? my thought would be a dispatch button but, don't they have a panel on the wall where they do that? Renewed mine last week. I'd recommend going to the checkout page and just seeing the amount of random crap they add to your pass. I've got vouchers for all of their parks and the 12m photo pass is a nice to have. But hoping SDSC reopens before my pass expires. -
Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
TV15 replied to Park Addict 93's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Sure has running better than ever! It’s as if they’ve restored the dark ride section, everything was working! Roadrunner has also reopened. This is awesome from the park opening rides up before their schedule maintenance end date. Was there today, they haven’t. Still the same strict loose article policy. Managed to get on the 2nd train of the day, it flew over the top-hat. As the day went on, it slowed down to its usual speed. Massive crowds at the ride though, basically a 45+ minute wait all day. One train very slow ops. In the rare event that FSF & SE dueled it’s actually quite cool. Also watching SE go around from the inside is quite a spectacle as well! -
i mean they did have one.. maybe also leviathan open on time too and with the park for once?
