Can confirm, white paint creeping up the pole from the bottom.

You should get that checked out by a doctor.

Nah it's normal, I like to add some decorations on weekends

Surprised they are doing the top given the whole tower doesn't appear to have been given a primer? Unless only certain parts needed it. But holy crap what a difference it makes. To think when it first opened that's the colour the tower was basically.

Doing the top makes the colour consistent through the whole tower and makes it look much better IMO. I love the black more than the grey.

I swear I remember seeing someone doing heavy sanding when I last drove past, wouldn't need primer if it's a nice clean base to paint on

No

Moving on, pics from today. Will they continue the rock garden decor over to the Drop? What will be done around the building’s base?
just feels like a lot of wasted space if they don’t do anything, as they relocated train line frees up lots of room.

This would have been the perfect chance to remove spaghetti junction as well and make an easier queue closer to the building. Something people here have suggested for years (myself included).

I love the new colour! Helps it stand out a lot more and looks like it makes the old TOT supports blend in too

I've seen your post about what side you think it will go on but nothing about it being confirmed.

How is my eye cached from all directions if the new lighting display is only installed on the North?

"We're installing a brand-new lighting display to rejuvenate the iconic look of the Gold Coast skyline.
With a new illuminated lettering lighting display, the Giant Drop Tower will remain an eye-catcher, dusk till dawn from all directions of the Gold Coast."
