Where Are They Now?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what happened to Intencity?? I know that they still operate small arcades, but whatever happened to the indoor theme parks they had - did they go bust or was there something else to it?? And yes i am aware they are still owned by WVTP.

yes they pretty much went bust. I enjoyed Intencity Parramatta. I used to go there quite a lot during school holidays when i was younger. Red Planet, BattleMech Warrior, The Chameleon, and Flight Simulator.... all were favourites of mine.... the other arcade parts of the place, i wasn't really a fan of, although the Wide World Of Sports area was better than the rest...

There was upto a couple of years ago a huge Intencity at Westfield Belconnen, ofcourse with the 9 Wide World of Sports. (back in the day when Myer was Grace Bros). We thought it was the end when they closed the gates. It wasn't. They closed the wide world of sports area, and built a wall where the glass doors used to be. That area is now a womens only gym. However, to our suprise they redeveloped the Intencity area. So there are still a couple around. I remember seeing a good one at Westfield Hurstville. It looked prety good, but I did not spend much time in there. I remember they closed that one down when I was still living in sydney. However, I must say they are not as good as they used to be. If anyone is after any of their games, this is what you need: http://www.intencity.com.au/gameSales.asp I must also say, I am not a good fan of their website.

I have an idea to resurect Intensity, not as an arcade but - in the style of Sega World or DisneyQuest. Wouldn't that be cool for WVTP to have a few mini Movieworlds in each major city (excluding Brisbane because they have the real thing close-by).

The is an intensity at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, but its more like timezone. And if you want a good timezone, its at Centro Surfers Paradise, right on Cavil Mall. It has everything. Lazer skirmish, mini golf, bowling. Its huge!

Yeah it's alright. I remember when i was about 5 or so when it used to be Grundys Entertainment centre, back then its size was nearly the entire level all the way out to where i think is now a Red Rooster. That was huge!!
