I'm really confused as to what this is and why it's needed. I still think its to do with fall protection but seems to be bigger than what we first thought. On the first image you can see steel sticking off the fence that has been cut. This used to connect to a similar but smaller piece of steel that ran down the lift hill housing the lift hill speakers, lighting and cable to clip onto when your being evacuated off the ride/walking down the lift hill.

The lighting and speakers have now been removed and I presume they will be mounted onto the new structure. However the fall wire is still intact.

As I had said earlier, similar happened to DC Rivals on its last closure (last year) but it was just the fall system being moved.

I think the existing lifeline will be removed once the new system is completed, as the workers are still using it while the installation work is being carried out.

If the new system ends up being the same as Rivals, then MW are probably standardising the lifeline setup across the park. It keeps maintenance systems consistent and makes training, inspections, spare parts, and safety procedures easier.

Also reduces risk which in turn reduces insurance premiums

Hopefully they can scrape up a bit of money to at least paint it. Rivals wasn't but I don't really think it needs to be. When Storm Coaster got the exact same treatment they installed it already painted blue.

Some bloke in the comments that portrayed himself as having some knowledge of the project said the works are to do with the structural integrity of the ride, and cracks have been found during the track inspection process which require resolving.

Went back to clip them and realised I misquoted/mistook who said what.

the comment Magician clipped was part of it but the other part was merely conjecture/assumption by the photographer that it was structural and reinforcement. Apologies for the bum steer

The speakers have now been reinstalled.

Can someone explain to the maintenance team that this is a theme park and things actually need to be painted

How many bits of out of place raw galvanized steel do we now have scattered all over the park

Rivals green lantern scooby inside wild west and now road runner it looks so terrible

@New display name you’re telling me that using zip ties isn’t the right way to do things?

I think zip ties are perfectly fine for a rollercoaster that parents entrust their kid's lives with! I see NO issue here whatsoever!!

From the picture above, you can see the cable tracks for holding the wiring were originally being installed on top of the new rail, and the speakers were also mounted up there. The speakers, the track, and the lighting that was attached to it have since been moved underneath the rail.

It’s unclear whether the rail is being secured with zip ties, but what is visible is wiring starting to fall out of the track. That said, this may have already been rectified since I saw it yesterday, before it reopened today.

Track and speaker on top of new rail.

Track under rail.

Whoever put those zip ties on and didn't clip the tails off should be taken out the back and made to watch Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 on a loop.

Looks excellent. Such an amazing facade. Fingers crossed Movie World builds something on the scale of WWF again one day

It's really nice to see all the changes and upgrades that's happened across the park since December (Added seating and theming, audio fixes, jet washing etc.) I really hope this means someone is now in charge who actually cares about the place. The road runner stuff is pretty bad though and I do hope they get around to it next maintenance period or sooner.

I mean, at the bare minimum let's hope that they got everyone who was siphoning funds for their own benefit so that they can spend that money on the park.
