Movie Worlds Upcoming 2025 announcements

imo the stunts don't serve the story. Also, I am so surprised they didn't go with an Austin Powers theme, as (a), it's very obviously inspired, and (b), they literally have the ip. Also this may just be my nostalgia but I do really like the set, I just wish they used it better. Also, after Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 (2014-2015), the new motorbike jumps just look unimpressive. I understand why they removed it (the two accidents), but still. Overall it's just way too busy and chaotic

In the short timeframe MW has turned out an ok show but now MW needs to polish it into a great show. (I do agree with @MickeyD leaving the set was a mistake as the show doesn't make much use of it) Sk

  • The performer who played Mad Mike in Police Academy for 15 years, Michael Bennett, has been confirmed to be returning to the park this Summer to be part of the new stunt show as the warm-up artist.

Just because they have licenced the character for in-park appearance, doesn't mean that they've got carte blanche to use it however they wish. The licencing agreements are usually very specific on what is and isn't allowed for the price paid - and any change to that would need renegotiation.

I'm not. Firstly, Austin Powers has lost basically any relevance and would be unknown for anyone under the age of 30. It's not an enduring IP.

It's also not overly family friendly if you are going to make use of the IP to its best advantage.

You can easily translate the character into PG humour, especially if it's going to be more of an action set piece

Also I don't think there's anything wrong with having older IP in the park, I'd prefer that over the 2010s DC trend chasing

No, nothing wrong with older IP - but it has to be relatable. And tying a major park attraction to the IP means it needs sufficient recognition for it to pull a crowd. WoZ was relevant because of all the recent attention it has garnered from Wicked. Austin is nowhere near the same.

Having a character walk around in the 'classics' era alongside Marilyn and such is fine. Anchoring your main 'show' isn't.

I mean the 30th anniversary for Austin Powers is next year. If people wanted relevancy then that would've been a good excuse to make a show around it

Matilda came out 30 years ago this year. That doesn't make it relevant enough to base a show around. Shows aren't just here for a year either.

Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 ran from 2014 to 2025 - 11 years

Hollywood Stunt Driver ran from 2008 to 2014 - 6 years

Police Academy Stunt Show ran from 1991 to 2008 - 17 years

No. Austin is not a viable IP to anchor your parks main show.
