Foul Stench at Movie World

Featured Replies

I was at Movie World yesterday and all day their was a foul smell throughout main street and other parts of the park. It smelt like those fart bombs where you squeeze a little pocket of air, then it inflates and bursts. Other guests were noticing it also. At the end of the day i couldnt stand it any longer and went into guests services. I told them and they just stared at me blankly but then said it must be the drains. They didn't show any care for the complaint whatsoever; as a result my respect for movie world dropped signigicantly yesterday. No one wants to spend nearly $70 to spend the day in a place that smells of faecies.

exactly...if it smelled like fart bombs, as you say, it probably was. I'm sure that the people at guest services would've let someone know. Just because a customer in a store doesn't see action being taken doesn't mean it isn't happening.

My family and myself all hold VIP passes. They went to Movie World last week and could smell the exact same thing, its obviously an ongoing thing.

I also smelled it...weird... I only REALLY smelled it near the cafe and throughout the area nearby.

Yea the smell was there as well last night, It became really strong everytime the smoke mahine in the drain near the cafe started, it really smelled.

I'm pretty sure it's not a stink bomb because it's there every time I visit. Too much of a coincidence. I'd say it's the drain but MW need to fix it because, I agree, I don't want to spend my money for that smell!

yea i noticed it last week too, but it wasnt there on one of the Halloween nights

Another WVTP shortcoming. This has been going on for at least a month now.

I'm no plumber (believe it or not) but as the smell does seem like it is coming from the drain's on main street, is it possible that because the roof is now over the main street that there isn't a frequent flushing of the drains from rain water, thus causing this bad smell? And yes, it does smell really bad.

OK! OK! OK! So maybe the time has come to finally rip the lid on this mystery?!?! I'll give you two words: SOFT DRINK

It's seriously been at least 6 months hey...
Now, I didn't think it was that long - hmmm... let me just use the SCROLL BAR....

Nope - it's been about a month. I don't recall any comments or complaints about this particular smell before the start of October.

I took note of this thread before going to Movie World a few weeks back. I don't remember smelling anything overly bad, other than BO of course (busy day).

You don't think it could be a (stupid) way for them to stop people congregating in the one area and blocking the path?
Oh right. They're going to intentionally create something that will put off their guests? Joz, think you have your quote of the month already.

"It stinks out here, I'm going in the shops!" I must admit I originally didn't pay that much attention to this thread, it seemed such a weak thing to complain about. There's a bad smell on Main Street? Sure there is. But sure enough I was in Movieworld the other day and turned the corner onto main street and there it was. Curiously though unlike the reader 4 posts above I was pretty much next to the emporium when I smelt it. If I was to hazard a guess I'd say clogged drain, but I've got no idea. All I know is it was really not a fun thing to be walking through.

And you're trying to tell me that WVTP never make a stupid decision?
There's a difference between making a stupid decision & deliberately introducing an unpleasant element to a guest's experience.
