Im at Dreamworld today, checking out the maintenance on the Wipeout, and they seem to be repaiing the wave.

Would you be able to take some pictures and post them? Thanks

Was at SW on Sunday, no surprise but the Skyway was not operating for guests... It was being run but signage stated "Due to ongoing improvements" it was closed.

Not sure why WNW has Wavepool maintenance on their page, has been working the 4 times I've visited in the last 2 weeks.. Tornado is looking pretty schmick in parts.. like it's had a coat of gloss.

What exactly is going on with wipeout? I know they're fixing it up. But I've heard people on this forum say they are moving it. Is it true?

Yes. It's moving out the back with the vintage cars. Surveys showed that the majority of people who rode Wipeout would also ride the Vintage Cars. So they are moving them together and since there's no space to put the cars in next to the Wipeout, they had to move Wipeout.

With the wipeout being moved and the reef diver being removed could that mean a larger attraction? I hope it's a coaster!!

The ride will be re-themed to a dust storm to spice up the vintage cars a bit. The cars will go through a tunnel at the point where the queue path overpass crosses the ride.

Replacement ride is yet to be confirmed.

Not likely to be a coaster, but will not be a spin-n-spew.

Oh for goodness sake, Wipeout is just getting a facelift. New paint job, new parts, new motors and hydraulics, new seats and the water is returning. It will be open back up in the same spot with a new refreshed look. Thats all there is to it.

I'd love it if the water cannons made a return. I've only seen them operate a handful of times, but definitely added some extra "wow" to the ride.

Yep they were really good, operators did it if they could be bothered. They've been disasembelling the wodden jetty thing that they built back in 2007 when they got rid of the water to cover the water jets so they may be coming back, we will find out soon enough!

I just asked what was going on. Is that too much to ask?! I asked because I've heard stories about the wipeout being moved and stories about wipeout being repaired but staying where it is. All I asked was for someone to let me know what was actually going on with the wipeout.

This is the latest one I have seen, if you zoom in you can see them painting the wave a new blue colour.

I know one member who is down there at the moment with his significant other, but not sure if he is checking his phone at this point (and have no doubt he would take photos if there was something new to see anyway)
