2014 In Dreamworld - Tail Spin construction, Wipeout refurbishment, Triple Vortex construction

I would like to think that they would put more effort into it if they wanted to allow guests to nearly to get right underneath it. And people are always getting wet when they walk through the Madagascar area. I would be quite happy if I got a bit wet while watching the wipeout.

That shelter was one of the old stalls which used to sit across from the Wipeout in the spot which is now a new stairway to the Shockwave.

When was that done? I did always think that there should have been another access point to it, do it's good they have finally done that.

Going to renew my pass in the next day or so... gonna be there when this opens! Haha... I hope aswell that the shade isnt permanent because it looks like it kinda gets in the way... Also glad to see they did end up doing a "layered" look with the different shades of blue on the arms and counterweights... cant wait to see the paint job that the main vehicle gets! :)

Reanimated, the stairs are in the unshaded part, in between the Claw and the wipeout shack/ shop directly opposite the ride. I'd say it's very possible the stairs have gone in as an access point during construction. Basically where the Frozen Fanta and hair braiding stands used to sit.

I would have thought that the area that the new ride would take would only be this much (red line) and not them stalls.

Also, is this where the new fence line of Wipeout is (Purple Line) (Blue is original fence line)?

Nope the blue is the new fence line

Lol...if the purple line was the new fence line you would probably be hit by the ride haha

EDIT: Just to clarrify, where the temporary construction fence is now is approximately where the old fence line was, and that blue line is where the new fence line is.. so at its furthest point its probably at least 3 meters closer

EDIT2: Actually im probably dead wrong on that... the temporary fence would have to have been further back then the actual fence line when the started construction to give themselves room to work... so yeah i have no idea whats happening with that fenceline lol

I think they have completely removed that decking part but its still there in that photo since it was taken a week before they removed it... im pretty sure that blue shaded canopy is now where that deck was...

The sand they have removed yes since i think they are gonna completely refill it with water :)

So they have removed the sand section and replaced the decking part?

So previously when you stand at the fence there was a sandy beach part then the lagoon. So now they have got rid of the sand and have now started to put concrete down and the fence is going right up to the lagoon so soon when you stand there you could probably put your foot into the water.

Yep the deck is gone. It's now just a slab of concrete where the water jets are so they are doing work to them. The tent is just a cover to protect the workers.

Ok thanks for that. Does anyone know if fluffy will be returning? And with the theatrical elements do people think it will be water bring sprayed at/around riders?

I hope Fluffy returns, she is missing from the garden so she might be getting some work done to her, but we won't know for a couple of weeks. I think the elements will be the water, water jets, water spraying down the wave which they did in the 90's and also maybe new water sprayers on the gondola itself? Will be interesting to see once all is done. It now looks like they have to finish the new cement path, if the water jets or whatever is there, give the lagoon a splash of paint, put the surfboards back up and bring the motors and all that stuff back, install it and the gondola, test it etc. Most of the work is done though its just final touches and putting it all back together :)

HAHA.. it will rain at some point... for some reason that quote is really funny to me lol!

Just wondering about that beloved shark that went around on a track... Fluffy... how did she get that name? was she always called that since the ride opened? or was it a ride enthusiest thing that got her called that?

Anyway, would love to eventually know for sure which other Ride is getting a makeover... although they probably won't start on the next one till they finish the Wipeout...
