  • Is there a recent nearmap image that shows the reclaimed land? Perhaps someone can liquid paper the Sea Viper area so we can visualise the entire available land? Oh and Corkscrew died to me when

  • It was very heavily rumored back when the ride closed earlier in the year. A sad day, but I think we all saw it coming. Personally, I'm looking forward to the future; with Wild looking less and less

  • ^^ I actually say piss off and find something else to do with your time rather than visit this site. We have no desire for members on here that wish ANY parks to "Die a Horrible Death". What a fr

Rainbows End across the Tasman really needs the old Kumbak train on their identical Corkscrew roller coaster,

As for a replacement, a roller coaster would do the job. I would definitely not like to see another animal exhibit.

Cool memory.

No they don't at all.

Was at Rainbows End yesterday, and Corkscrew Coaster was running smoother than many older B&Ms, and this was in the 2nd car from the back.

If it aint broke.....

what paper Mr yoshi

Gold Coast Bulletin.

So they are removing the corkscrews?

Too bad,the corkscrews could have made a great display like how Alton Towers did it.

Demolition and site clearance would have taken up close to half that $20m fee

Theming would take up 1/4 of the fee as well

^Yes they are removing the whole coaster and it now also looks like they could be removing the bridge.

Oh, thanks.

^If you are referring to using them as a souvenir within the park, then that isn't the reason because SW replied to someone (posted on page 7):

Sea Viper certainly provided our guests with many happy memories during its 32 year lifespan. Unfortunately, we are unable to honour your request for a souvenir from the ride as all parts of our equipment are part of our asset register, and we cannot divest singular items to be given away or sold. Sorry we cannot assist you with this.

That reply was in regards to that person getting a particular part of the ride.

What mba means (I think so sorry if I'm wrong) is keeping the corkscrews themselves on display in the park somewhere (full size) as a monument to the ride that created history.

I like the idea suggested about incorporating them into the Storm theming. (Sorry can't find where it was said!)

A plaque could be added to the Storm area to explain them to future visitors.

Kind of awesome they're getting rid of the bridge. That whole space was a mess when jet rescue opened and I'm glad they're seizing the opportunity to make that area better. Exciting times ahead. Maybe they'll finally fix up the train? /sarcasm

I'm glad they took the opportunity to redesign the park. I look forward to seeing what they do. I wonder what happened to the old train that was stored under the Sea Viper station? Sea World does not need the train but maybe they could add a monorail station to that side.

I reckon it would be a bit of a waste of space to have a couple of corkscrews taking up SWs limited land.

Do like the idea of putting a scrap bit of track somewhere in storm coaster though!

The bridge is going down too? Wonder why.

Sea Viper will be gone by Friday at the latest.

As for suggestions of their next coaster:

GCI Woodie- Works well with the height limit and footprint would also be Australia's only proper wooden coaster.

Mack Launch- People suggest this a bit too much as it is unlikely to happen, because it would be considered too similar to Jet Rescue.

Smiler Clone- Alton Towers has a height limit too, and has a small footprint.

Normal Eurofighter- Can fit just about anywhere in the old Sea Viper footprint.

The best option for me would be a Eurofighter or a Smiler clone
