I am starting to think we may see something start to be built on this land this year. Maybe it could be a part of the Creatures of the Deep attraction. You can see that some fencing has been taken down and construction screens are in its place. And there is the what appears to be some gravelled area to the left, so maybe something will be put on there.

The gravel has been there for a while. By the looks of the sand that has been gouged out (presumably by recent rain), it's going to take them a bit more time to make sure the sand is solid enough to build on.

Please don't say it will be the area for Creatures from the deep or any other animal attraction.

As said before, I'd love to see a major thrill ride in SV's place, maybe a Mack launch coaster. An animal attraction cannot replace a coaster that was iconic to the park.

Imo Creatures from the deep will be temporary like Dinosaur Island.

The CotD attraction isn't going where SV was. It is headed for where the Dinosaurs used to be. Two separate spots...

A woodie would be a great look on a 'seaside pier' type park, but you need height, and space... and a woodie would probably need more than SW can offer.

Seems to be only getting attention because they are giving it some. Outside of dirt farming and rock growing looks to be nothing happening there.

Despite what you guys think, I'm still convinced that's where the new kiddy coaster will be going at some stage this year

I'v got some onsite reports from my Gf's best friend that I know and she's one of main dancers for villege roadshow,And she's even told me that there is absolutely no plans for anything to happen at the old sea viper site untill next year!

I believe they do mate her mum/step mum is pretty high up at VRTP from what i'v been told

So to make what you are saying more plausible, reliable, maybe you should have said "my girlfriends friend's mum is a manager at VRTP and said..." Rather than "my girlfriends friends is a dancer and said..."

Well my mums brothers neigbours best mates cat says that the scraps of Sea Viper are being welded back together to complete with the mine ride.

Yeh maybe I should have but I should't have to say that kind of stuff to make you believe that my facts are true mate. I have a lot of contacts around the gold coast and fill qite happy to share news that I find out about the parks with you guys

Well, to be fair, they DO occasionally release open memos to all employees regarding new & upcoming attractions and developments. There was TMNT, Affinity dolphin show, Creatures of the Deep and a new kiddy coaster & play area confirmed on the one I read on the staff billboard during my time there over the Xmas holidays.

So they do share such news and info with their staff in advance, even if they don't always make it clear where these attractions will be placed in the park.

Understand what you are saying OceanGirl, and no doubt information trickles to frontline staff either formally or informally through management or techs etc.

But strategic direction (we're not going to develop this parcel of land for x amount of time etc) would probably not be the type of info relevant to frontline staff.

Well, I've been told by myself that right smack in the middle of that photo is what appears to be some surveying equipment. I'm guessing that's what anyone would be referring to as "something happening" on the site.

I was thinking it looked more like a sprinkler on a tripod.
