I've never seen the Lair properly used. Wasn't it used for lions or something initially but then they just used it to house more tigers?

It was built & used when they took on some lions from another zoo whilst their enclosure was renovated. 

Since then it's homed one of the female tigers permanently. It is the area they use for the up charge tiger feeds

Also not sure if it has been brought up previously, or if it's old news (given I had no entry to DW for a couple of months) but has anyone noticed all the weeds on top of the river have been removed? 

 

Yeah the 'natural rubbish' has been cleared for about a month or so now

Yeah no thanks. I'm pretty sure anyone thinking of proposing will want it to be memorable.

To be clear, the Lair is the part that includes the glass above your head (in a "cave") that Tigers often lie on? A 10m x 10m grassy area with a big rock in it?

Yeah fond memories of that area. Where else can you stand under a tiger?

Not sure about standing under a tiger, but you get drunk enough and you might find yourself lying under a cougar.

I proposed to my wife on the couch, eating pizza.  I have no idea where that couch is now. I miss that couch.

I wouldn't hold a funeral just yet. They could very well be updating the signage to fit in with the new theme.

Only tiger island nursery, the shop and the cafe are demolished

We don't know at this stage. See previous posts above regarding the lair area

I'm not sure weather or not the Log Ride is still closed but it's now currently scheduled yet again in May from 16th to the 29th I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad sign.

Im holding out hope that the area remains mostly the same, just re-branded to fit the new aesthetics.

Not certain on this but maybe it's an emergency exit to ZE?

No it's part of the lair theming. Had some info in it about natural habitats from memory 

On the kevil hill page it now says closed for maintance even thought it is a seasonal attraction.
