On the train right now, got a pic of the construction, right now it is a pile of dirt with a wall around it. I didn't get a photo in time but mesh chicken wire type stuff are put up which will end up a rock work tunnel no doubt

Got some more today whilst both on and off the train. Definitely a lot of mesh going up, including all around the walls inside that doorway - looks like it's definitely going to have cave or tunnel theming identical to that of the current lair on the other side 😆

Great to see, I was quietly hoping it wasn't going to be just green panelling, Dreamworld does not disappoint.

Checked it out today, and strangely enough there has been no obvious progress that I can see over the past week, unless it's all being worked on internally now. Hoped to check it out from the other side via the train, but unfortunately the Dreamworld Express wasn't running today for some reason

Cause its an unreliable heap of an abomination of a machine.

Never intended for a train of that size from what I have heard.

They are tree trunks, and the backdrop is currently being spray painted on. Also, lanterns have been added throughout the area

I think it is an orange version of Kenny: The Down Syndrome Tiger.

I heard that designer Jamie Durie was back from the states to oversee final works.

So far, the painted leaves effect on the walls isn't quite as nice as the rest of the area. But it isn't quite finished so will hold off on final thoughts on it, but I do hope they fill the space with tall vegetation to blend it

I was there today, and whilst the outside facade looks average we need to remember it is still a work in progress. 

That said and done I did get a peep into the actual display area, and it does look rather nice inside with lots of rockwork and stuff, so let's not judge before all is done and dusted.

It looks stupid because they chose the wrong material to clad the building.   Flat sheet metal cladding shows up all imperfections.  On top of the you can see how it's fixed.  Like Super-Villains Unleashed shop the fake brick work takes away from a good idea because your eyes get drawn towards it.

While it's not perfect, I will say it's good they've tried and didn't just leave it as a blank green wall with an annual pass poster on it. 

 

Plus, if this is all we have to complain about so far, they're doing pretty well.

I don't have a problem with what they are trying to do.  I'm trying to get my head around why they are using stupid materials.  That sheet metal cladding is super expensive and is not made to clad a building.  There is 100’s of materials that is purposely made to do this job that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

There may be a reason for the cladding choice, surely you don't just pick a material on a whim. 

We also don't know how it will be finished so let's just wait and see.
