Not Tiger Island stage 2 related here but I saw this when I was at the park yesterday

They weren't kidding when they said you will be able to get up close to them!

Really good area, love the design. Would have loved some up close photos today but the Tigers were feeling lazy and lying in the middle of the enclosure. 

Seeing one of the younger tigers stalking a 2m+ python that was in one of the trees on the island was pretty cool to watch though

I have them the benefit of the doubt last Monday as it wasn't finished but now I'm not. 

This screams of we ran out of money. The unfinished gal beams for the roof, the flag green walls. Come on that's half assing it best and makes it look like a shitty zoo exhibit. 

Does the front facade still have that awkward bit of bare galvanized support sticking out at the end?

The colour of the walls is overbearing.  DW would’ve got away with it if instead of going Cottage Green they went a Classic Cream or Surfmist colour.  Even with the roof open the dark walls create a dungeon vibe.

Just out of curiosity, how many enclosure improvements does 730k buy the tigers?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but yours are some of the weirdest ever. This half baked exhibit is great but a world class ride down the road is awful...

How exactly is that "stooping so low". 

You'd be hard pressed to find many people who could make sense of your views.

But you could always and already do this in The Lair! I know, I proposed to my wife infront of Nika in the Lair caverns..

Well there you go. I must have missed that somehow!

Still. I like the new addition anyway.

No doubt folks here will appreciate a more in-depth look so i've attached a few shots. Giving the kids a chance to get up so close to the tigers is a big win, which will no doubt inspire more of the next generation to give more of a damn about conservation. If you want to see the same photos but from slightly different angles, you can checkout the rest over here.

 

Looks good from the outside, I can see what people are saying about the inside of the enclosure not looking great. But once the plants mature, most of the green walls will obscured. Would have been nice to see the "tree trunks" completed on the inside as well.

Was just looking through the DW website, and realised that the Tiger Photo Experience is still not avaible. Originally Stage 2 was supposed to include an upgraded facility for this. I wonder if we will see this return in the future?

Obviously the plans changed for Stage 2 (As we have seen with what they’ve done, compared to the original artists impression), but I do hope they bring it back again.

I’d say it may be a risk mitigation exercise.

I don’t think DW could cope with another safety related issue in park
