Last Day Celebrations

Featured Replies

Does any know if there are any big events or celebrations to mark the last day that wonderland is open? ill be down in sydney, just wondering if it is worth going

No, there wont be anything, it will just be like a normal day mate at the park, it will close at 5pm but there will be a staff reunion party at 6pm and they will probably get them out of there by about 8pm. If your down in Sydney, take a last trip out, its no hassle or anything and think that you will never set foot in the park again.

so thats all theyre havin... just a reunion party? then again i guess they would have had thousands of employees since it opened. shame they're not doing anything to go out with a bang for the public

The park will be packed and as there is nothing additional happening on the day you will be lucky to get on many of the rides. If you are happy just to have one last look around then go for it but I'm warning you now, the lines will be crazy

And can you believe it - apparantley Wonderland is supplying free alcohol for the party. Wonders never cease. No doubt staff will try and ensure guests are well and truly out of the park once 5:00pm hits on Monday. The party is supposedly starting at 6:00pm in Billabong Grove

Probably get rid of the beer they could never have sold otherwise. i.e. Tooheys New or XXXX or something :P Probably light at the very least. I think that's all they used to be allowed to serve us up at Attractions Parties. Although, did we get super at employee of the month? Can't remember a real lot of those... I can't believe the bastards didn't invite me! I'm cut. Distraught... Might just have to gate crash. Stuff em. I'm sure I can rustle up some fellow ex-employees for a good night out ;)

From what I have been told it's actually a farewell party, not a reunion. So don't feel too sad Daniel ;)

hehe I know. Just taking the piss. I never got a farewell unless you want to call being escorted off the premises one ;) See ya's all after it however :P I'll have my drinking boots on.

I seriously doubt it's going to be packed... Most people are going out that weekend as there are big free ticket giveaways. My guess Sunday will be the busy day, there aren't all that many people that will part with $50 just for the last day... Will be very interested to see one way or another :-)
