I’ve heard it’s undergoing under a refurb and becoming Next Generation. They’ve repainted the outside. But that’s about it.

Exterior of the disco room is getting work done. It seems like they’ve slightly moved the wall out. Possibly to allow for projection mapping to be installed 

That was already there as part of existing theming.

The reopening date for SDSC has been pushed back a week to dec 16th

That's fine with me. I just really hope it opens before Christmas, and it sounds like it will!

Having it open for as many White Christmas events as possible would be great, but TBH as long as it opens by Boxing Day it's all good.

The large tree to the left of the Scooby Doo castle has been removed.

Definitely think it was a bad idea to remove the tree I do not really now how to describe it but to me it kind of helped give it the spooky, forestry, scheduled feel to the front facade while now it looks very exposed and open which to me is not what they should be going for in a spooky castle. The detailing on the facades bricks look great but I think the brown cone things on top (not sure what they are called) stand out a bit to much and need to be darkened down a bit. I think overall it looks great and can’t wait to see what’s in store on the inside.

You don't normally remove a tree for the fun of it, especially one that big. A fair bit of money to do that, it was probably dying or causing structural damage. 

I didn’t think of that those reasons do make a lot more sense. I still do hope they replace it though.

I agree, but I think you meant secluded? It is possible something else might be going in where the tree was.

Looks silly. Hopefully whatever replaces it looks good.

While they’ve removed the tree, they should pressure clean the concrete, because i don’t think it’s ever been done

It's sad to see that tree go - i'm pretty sure that was an original planting, and was one of the last ones around the park. I hope the only reason for removal was that it was diseased \ dangerous \ causing structural problems. if its been removed for aesthetics, or to throw in a fast pass booth or something i'd be pissed.

And with all the trees on the other side, it definitely looks strange, hopefully it’s removal was for a good reason 

they need to put the castle brick work on the whole outside of the building because it now just looks stupid!

They need to do something because the tree did hide a very unattractive wall.

Hopefully they do do something with it especially they since they have put in so much time and effort in rejuvenating the facade it would be such a shame if they just left it that way even if it is just putting in a new tree.

If the castle wall went the whole way up it wouldn’t look so bad, but because it doesn’t and you can see the show building, it really losses the affect. Just shows how important that tree was

in a world of movies, where much of the themeing is soundstages, i really don't mind that the castle seems like just a facade, with plain walls beside. you don't theme something if it's not in the shot!
