My first reaction was - wow, is he still active?

checked his profile... nope. joined April 2004, last seen August 2005, and last reputation was May 2015!!! Talk about rising from the dead!

Maybe they delayed the announcement because they couldn't decide a name

Closed for scheduled maintenance on Monday 29th May and will re-open Monday 12th June 2017.

Well they did say it has taken a while for the park, Warner Brothers and DC to agree on the name...

So the animation confirms an Airtime hill after the first drop & bunny hills leading back to the station  I'm VERY happy with the layout! 

Im hoping the drop is at least 70°

I assume you mean Super Villians? 😜 The soft opening was held Sept 17th-18th weekend, the VIP opening night was Fri 24th September, and it all officially opened to the public that same weekend 👍

So did much construction get done today or was the announcement equivalent to a full days worth of work?

Given they allowed media inside the construction compound to take photos of the track up close and what not for most of the afternoon, I'd say very little. They will likely pick up where they left off tomorrow.

Looks like they've managed to sneak in a third bunny hill just before the break run. The shadow shows that the track dips down to the ground before the jump in to brakes. Nice collection of airtime hills to finish off the ride!

 

Here is some aerial footage of the construction so far.  You actually get a sense of the scale of it.  Superman looks tiny in the background.

Wondering what direction the footbridge will connect TopGolf to Movieworld. Looks very close to the track.

that footbridge to wnw (and topgolf) will be a welcome addition.

I guess this explains the fenceline moving in under the lift hill (the area from the fence toppers thread), where the old driveway used to be. I suspect this is going to be the path that goes from outside the park, under Rivals, and over the bridge to Top Golf.
