The New Atlantis - Construction Updates

Featured Replies

Looks like they used the pile driver to build a dyke, or at the least, retaining walls. Can see the panels driven into the ground and a few unused ones laying on their side in the first photo.

Coming late to the party but I'm really excited about Leviathan. The Gravity Group delivers very decent woodies with lots of airtime (quantity-wise at least) and great pacing. Great to see Australian parks picking up the pace, and it seems Sea World will have a good 1-2 combo with Jet Rescue :)

Plenty of work happening across the entire area of the precinct

Vortex construction. Still working on ground works with plenty of pipe work visible. I don’t think we will see this open until after the school holidays

Leviathan Construction. In some of these photos you can see a timber structure being built which I believe will be the station (someone correct if otherwise). The grass from the Sea Viper site has been removed and replaced by gravel. The seating area next to Jet Rescue has also been removed and instead an extension queue for the ride has been installed. I wonder if this means they are going to adjust the rides entrance since so many just walk straight past it

@Gazza Good. Nothing major to note, just a look of ground prep right now. Unfortunately the monorail is closed so we can’t get a view from that angle (and I imagine it will be until the coaster is completed)

Plenty of ground works happening

And you can see the work that’s been happening on the SV site and the grey roof near the monorail track is the structure I took photos of the other week

Hopefully they might add some aircon to the monorail while it’s down,

Apparently construction is 8 weeks behind  so that would mean end of January early February for Vortex opening?
lots of ground movement now Also, so I guess you can say leviathan construction has officially started

I feel like it would be a bit unlike Village to open it on a non-holiday time-frame. They might want to hold off the extra month until the easter holidays come around?

Air conditioning won’t and can’t be added as the monorails don’t have enough clearance in some stations and in their maintenance bay

There are alternatives to roof mounted AC units though.

Although I doubt the power supply on the track would handle the additional load.

Would be great to add some aircon as it is a nice scenic ride and with little kids it is a fair walk from end to end but its like a sauna most days, maybe a new station in Atlantis wouldn't go astray either but I think thats probably pushing it

Cut off the roof, problem solved
