If something needs surge pricing, backwards seating is it.

Rivals backwards seating did have surge pricing for a period this year, I'm not sure when exactly. They didn't advertise the price anywhere and the staff at the ride wouldn't tell you what it is. It seems to be stuck at $30 now though.

b) they *whisper* this price in an 'unofficial' announcement via a Facebook message, people (i.e. us) get annoyed by it and then they reveal the price is cheaper than $30 and everyone is happy.

I’d give their marketing dept slightly more credit than that

$30 isn’t much on a $$$$ family holiday, a basic T shirt at the parks costs more.

You get to keep the T-shirt though.

$30 would be ok.. if it included a on ride video.. (which also is a $0 cost to the park)

Yes I know Levi's trains don't have on ride video.

I wonder what units are used to measure iconicness.

I mean, in todays technology you likely could social media to measure it, based on impressions/tags over time. A consistent number would = iconic, higher consistent number = more iconic

too bad this is brand new and in my opinion can't be iconic (yet)

iconic
adjective

  1. 1.
relating to or of the nature of an icon.
"he became an iconic figure for directors around the world"

  2. 2.
(of a classical Greek statue) depicting a victorious athlete in a conventional style.

Might have scraped through really stretching semantics, but even then, "world's most" suggests a level of delusion that probably requires treatment.
