History lesson time

The film was released in 1971 by Paramount Pictures, however the films fights were transferred to Warner Bros in 1977

So I’m not sure if the remastered/re-release of them film mentions WB on it anywhere, but that could be the reason why we thought it was by them

Up to now I've had the opinion that the later than expected opening of SkyVoyager was ok, on the basis that the important thing is that it's a safe and polished experience when it does.

But given we were told multiple times by several Dreamworld sources (on and offline) that it would open either on Boxing Day or not long after, and yet it's now mid February and there's still no confirmed opening date or any explanation of what's going on, I now have to say my patience has run out!

I realise technical things can happen which can sometimes be hard to predict, but it's now beyond a joke.

That coupled with the very misleading marketing implying it was open when it wasn't, and the complete lack of any honest communication as to what's going on, has in my opinion done a lot of damage to Dreamworlds already very badly damaged reputation.

So sad.

Well it’s now autumn and the website says opening this summer 😅😅 only 9 months to go

What’s your secret mate? Can you tell us all how you’re living in the future like that? Last time I checked it’s still summer...

The Easter Holiday Period this year kicks off from the 6th of April for both QLD and VIC. That's really not far away and with NSW Holidays staggered a week later, Gold Coast should get a solid month. Without being optimistic that's plenty of time for DW to get their shit together and have all systems go for a successful soft open period. Enough time for the Passholes to try it out and enough time to properly Market their investment effectively  this time around (despite all the billboards and TV ad campaign, most people gave it little to no attention and still have no idea what SV is)

Given time doesn’t stop, the coming weeks actually describes every week from next week thru until the inevitable obliteration of our planet  from a dying sun in 4 billion or so years...

so id say they are on the money...

Heh - I made a similar observation last week - they are technically correct so long as it does eventually open!

Makes one think, what coaster can you buy for $27 million?  (What could have been)

although the costs for this have allegedly increased beyond the original starting point, wasn't there some lease deal or something where Dreamworld didn't actually stump up the full price tag, and would instead be paying Brogent over several years?

In a board meeting...

DW CEO: “we sure got that Brogent mob good! They agreed to let us pay off Sky Voyager over 6 years! Chumps! We’ll run this place into the ground and be closed in 2! Suckers! ”

Didn't MW have a deal with Mack Rides too?
