  3. Today
  4. As you'll notice, there's some pretty major changes to the forums today. Importantly, login is now via your email address rather than username. Your password remains unchanged. If for whatever reason you are unsure of the email account you signed up with, then I'd recommend getting in touch and we can look into it for you. It was a bit of an abrupt transition today; it was meant to be a bit more gradual, but a few things behind the scenes pushed it forward and here we are. The first thing you'll probably notice is the site is a whole lot faster and we won't be prone to those periods of painfully slow loading, which had become more frequent in recent months. There's also lot of new features that I've barely gotten my head around with this latest version of the forum software, but for now it should at least feel a bit more vibrant and down the track we'll be implementing a few new features. For the time being, the main site is down. It's a slightly larger project to get up and running again but it will happen. Today's rather sudden upgrade for the forums meant that it just wasn't possible to get everything done at the same time. There's no immediate plans for me to resume editorial content, but the site will be back soon enough and we'll hopefully find a way to breathe new life into the site and give new voices and content creators an opportunity to share more freely with this community. If anyone encounters any bugs or issues with the new forum then I'd invite you to share them in the Community Feedback forum.
  5. Totally agree! Such a major water park should be adding attractions that are somewhat unique and special, not something you could find at a council aquatic centre, or the Big Banana.
  6. While this is a good addition to WNW, who else thinks they would have done something better? Its pretty mediocre and generic for a water park these days and they have so many body slides already.
  7. Didn’t say I wanted a faster ride Skeet, just one that doesn’t require self propulsion in opposition to their rule on not removing your arms from being crossed on your chest I’m sure it’s just a tinkering with what pressures which they are likely still doing given it’s opening week
  8. I didn't say adults can't ride. The slide is slower so kids can ride. If you want a slide that is faster, ride the Loopers.
  9. Well I was with my kid, but no, most of the people in the twisters were adults
  10. I only I rode the Loopers because the impression I got with the lower height restrictions, was the Twisters were for the kids.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Got a short visit into WnW yesterday for the first visit of the summer season Park was heaving with a lot of school excursions (overlooked that thinking i'd get in before the rush of school holidays) Zoom Zone looks like an upgraded version of Fully 6 (or 4). Queue line is split into 3 at ground level - "Twisters" and "Loopers" and fast track. Twisters is the lower thrill option (lacks the first up drop of Loopers). People in the Loopers line are given plastic cards to give to the sorter at the top of the tower - this is how they differentiate who is going to what slides at the top and to ensure no one changes their mind basically. At the top 4 coloured lines representing the 4 slides lead you to the relevant slide. It's a bit chaotic given the limited space, but they make it work. Constant audio synced to screens both on ground level and at the top of the tower run through height, weight and health requirements (102cm for Twister, 120cm for looper, max 135kg) You must lie flat the entirety of the slide, ankles crossed and arms crossed over chest. I only tried the Twister option, which was about as slow as a waterslide could be. I was wearing a rashie and maybe its a water pressure thing but on 2 occasions i almost came to a complete stop and had to propel myself - in hindsight i think this was a somewhat common occurrence and explained the wide gaps in dispatch times between sliders. The lack of an initial drop on Twisters doesnt give you much momentum to carry you, so i think the water flow is something they'll need to deal with (for context whilst not light, i'm a LONG way off the max weight capacity - and based on what i experienced yesterday i'd hate to think how a 120-130kg person would go. In other park news, a new donut van looks like a permanent edition "'Daniels Donuts" apparently one has opened at Movie World too and they are similar to Krispy Kremes And what seems new since last season (or my memory has just failed) is that Calypso Beach is now sponsored by Royal Carribean and the signage has been updated, as have the tubes. Some construction/demolition is occurring at the foot of Zoom Zone and River Rapids as well which has changed the entry point to the ramp up the hill to access the rapids
  13. But when its packed doesnt this same forum say that its oversold too crowded and in contempt of guests
  14. They also really pushed the cheaper passes that didn't include White Christmas
  15. For me, not selling out indicates village annual pass numbers are down.
  16. The video in the reply above yours shows fast track, and what appears to be general standby. There's no way you'd fit single rider up that corridor - and they're certainly not going to prioritise capacity over making money off queue jump passes. It's been said it's just the beginning of the video, and if that's the case i'm not against it - you can't skip credits on stuff like that - but even if it isn't, i'd be totally ok if they'd worked out a sponsorship deal for it. In my view, watching what I assume is a 'making of' \ 'behind the scenes' video while standing in a queueline, even without HBO branding - isn't quite the embodiment of 'immersion'. If you want immersion in a queue line, check out WOZ or Jungle Rush, because it isn't projector screens playing movie clips.
  17. Like last time i'm sure they'll mysteriously sell out on the day of, while still having plenty of tickets available to sell at the gate.
  18. It would probably sell out if they announced Scooby was open during the event
  19. The event starts tonight and so far only 2 nights have sold out, I wonder if this will change today. Flash isn't listed on the open rides so will be interesting to see if that's open tonight and Superman Escape is still out of action. Another year, another underperforming VRTP event.
  20. You’d most likely only see the ad every time the movie ends and resets back to the beginning so you’d see it a max of 3-4 times in line accounting for school holiday crowds. I don’t think it’s fair to call it a bombardment of ads for HBO Max, at least compared to whats seen on the screens in the station of DCR where it’s ads are present 95% of the time.

  22. The indoor queue looks amazing! However in my view, nothing quite embodies immersion like being bombarded with HBO Max ads while queuing for an hour for one of Australia’s most “iconic” rides… might be worth the trade off for the extra fountains and props, however for a park that’s build so much hype I would prefer no ads
  23. Queue looks nice. Hoping there's a single rider line
  24. Some on ride sneak peaks in this clip https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17YkWbZo2c/?mibextid=wwXIfr also the station with new gates on movieworlds facebook
  25. Yeah, I have ridden seat one and it was very intense compared to my previous ride in about seat 30…. Also, King Claw has been down for the last 40 minutes or so.
  26. The opening date for the show is the 19th Dec
  27. Last week
  28. They started deconstructing the stage and outdoor area of the house today. There will be house tours through the school holidays (dates to be confirmed). Gold Coaster was meant to reopen this Friday, but has been delayed to next Friday.
