Planks of wood can be used for things other than roller-coasters, just FYI. I hear houses are built from them and stuff.4 points

I think it's fair to say making an announcement about a major new attraction on the back of a recent local tragedy is in bad taste, which is why we haven't heard anything yet.2 points

I think you'll find AOS and VRS are big blockers to that suggestion. #NeverGoingToHappen2 points

Probably build a bridge and get over it. Get it? Because there's a creek. I'm so funny I make myself laugh sometimes.1 point

Guy across the road from me does a lot of work on older cars and has one of the PASS cars in his personal collection... Had it sitting in his driveway yesterday... Also owns a hearse he brings out during October and a Monkeemobile... Will have to get a photo one day...1 point

Linking to TRRR to make the public feel insecure is the media's favourite thing to do. Next time I see a car broken down on the side of the road I'll make sure to ring up a news station because that's probably more serious than a coaster E-stopping. Yep, looking at this is definitely was1 point

I haven't been in a few years, so things might have changed, but last time I was there, there was one or two banks of lockers (i think they were all the way at the end) that did not require a wristband and could be paid in cash. I always used those lockers so that our group could simply share the pin\colour combination... is this still the case? I don't even know why i'm bothering to reply to this, but seriously Push - you get unlimited entry to three parks for ~$100 a year. You want the parks to build more attractions you like, but at $33 a year per park (less now that PC is included too) how much do you think they profit from the free admission? Your self-entitled pompous bullshit is disturbing. Each park used to cost more than $100 a year for annual membership. IIRC when I first came to Brisbane they were about $299 each. Why do you think your cut-price, anyone can (and probably does) membership entitles you to free use? Not everyone needs a locker. Some people visit the parks with a non-riding friend who can mind your stuff. If it's that bad, go into the park with a pair of shorts that has a velcro pocket, a dry-pouch for your membership card (that goes into the pocket) and a towel and thongs. leave the thongs and towel near the entrance to the ride you're going on (few people would steal someone's thongs or towel) and then you solve both the locker problem, and the burning path problem. I suppose next you'll expect VIP seating at shows, and a free lunch.1 point

Not always the case @pazzap. Cedar Point have closed Mean Streak and it is more than obvious by the fact large sections of track are missing and the station, the first turn and to part of the lift hill either have cross beams for attaching RMC track or track actually installed plus a pile of RMC I-box track sitting near the lift they are doing a conversion. No word yet from either the park or RMC about the transformation.1 point

@Glubbo my RMC was based a bit on Storm Chaser at Kentucky Kingdom and from my experience on Twisted Colossus and Joker. This is an sort of overview of the ride without giving away the full layout.1 point

Even if it is within guidelines, its a shitty, deceitful thing to do and who ever came up with it needs the sack. Rounding up for no nothing, what an embarrassment. You know what too, The prices in the parks all used to end with 95cents, now it's 99cents. That miserable little manoeuvre is your credit card fees taken care of, your product is fun, stop needlessly pissing people off!1 point

Would seem a bit silly to build a coaster 4 feet short of reaching hyper status no?1 point

I've heard similar stories from a friend who works there. One thing is for sure is when they do reopen, both parks are gonna be in the best visual nick we have seen them in a while. So much gardening, maintenance and other TLC going on ??1 point

So ive never told this story here but when my mum and dad took myself and my little bro to Seaworld/Nara Resort for 3 days back in 2001. While mum waited with my little bro in the pram, dad took me on the Vikings Revenge Flume. At the loading dock, something happened which caused the boat dad and i were in to immediately dispatch right after the boat in front and then an empty boat behind us immediately dispatched as well so the three boats were hitting each other through the channels. Dad started freaking out as the boats got to the conveyor hill as he thought something bad might happen on the way down (capsize, crash, i dunno what) so he jumped off the side on the way up and i remember being totally distressed while he tried to help me off. I think we just waited there for a while because we didnt know what to do/where to go and then they shut down the ride and one of the ride attendants came running up to us and was really angry because we had apparently made them shut down the ride and when dad tried to explain that he was worried about what would happen going downhill, the attendant told us that there was a safety mechanism at the top of the hill that stopped the boats and only let one down at a time. So that was my experience on the Vikings Revenge, lol.-1 points
