Here is what my updated simulation looks like. The first two screenshots show the recent status of construction. The last three screenshots show how the track will match the supports already in place.24 points

Since the fencing around GL is matched with the new coaster, i'd like to see them make that the 'official' boundary - meaning the internal wall that used to be the external boundary is no longer needed - knock it out, build a big deck over the canal and create a nice new relaxing space near the front of the park. it's never going to happen but it'd be nice.11 points

Alright folks, here's your photo update from around 4:45pm today. As per the (NL2) model, the turn under the Stengel Dive has received a few supports. I believe they were doing the turn-around supports today, as most of them are unfinished. and finally a panorama of the turnaround area The next piece to go up is Piece #669 points

Been offline a few days, caught up from the last 3 pages. Was wanting to comment on pics to suggest certain corners were coming, then @docoasterupdated their NL pics to even more accurate than what I was considering. Advice, people. Don't comment until you've caught up. I appreciate all the pics over the last few days. How fast will it be out through the s-bend that head chops the Stengel Dive!3 points

Fantastic work as usual... it's great to have someone like you here to do all this - it's appreciated by a lot of people! Looks like a very twisty coaster so far... which I'm very excited about, but I hope we see some massive airtime hills soon!3 points

Visited MW today for the first time since the development went skyward. Whilst waiting to ride GL I noticed Paint marks on the grass that extend across from the Observation platform all the way East toward the new Coaster. I wonder if we will see another raised platform placed here?3 points

I would never think I would be complaining about a public holiday... but here we are2 points

This piece of track and support are new today. Thank you for the photos. @themagician That next connection looks good.2 points

I think you might be right with your assumption @thunder001 because the marks lead straight across to meet the GL queue. This would solve the issue with needing to free up some more space and open up the thoroughfare to the new ride. I'm currently having a coffee across from MW and looking at the impressive sight of what has been achieved so far. Comparing it to what already exists on the skyline, I can't help but think this ride ia going to be 'The Dark Side of Superman', aka Bizarro.2 points

I really do hope that it the things that have been said about the details aren't allowed to be released until after May 1 (and for what ever reason that may be), MW instantly take the opportunity to announce it as soon as possible. Ideally (hopefully) they announce it next week, if not, by the end of the month.1 point

From my April 13 post, it appears that piece 51 is the lowest numbered piece identified. It's obvious that pieces 50 or 49 have been attached as well, as seen in the 4th photo in @themagician post on April 22. Of note is the spline connection in that photo - for a reinforced piece.1 point

I didn't stop because I had the little one in the car. It did look like one more piece was up and they were about to do another lift.1 point

They'll only be working mon-Fri I believe unless it gets closer to the opening date and they are running behind1 point

Thanks @Theme Park Ninja! I was hoping to get a pic of that yesterday, but all the tradies were busy in there so it was virtually impossible π Glad you managed to snag one. It's coming along great with the new front counter ππ1 point

Almost certainly that that feeling of control comes from the designs rather than the track itself. B&M has always built rides that lean towards conservative. The train styles themselves would have limitations (2x2 vs 4x1) that need to factor into the designs though certainly nothing that comes close to the limitations of the human body. B&M seems to just prefer not to push the boundaries. For my money I'm firmly in the Arrow camp from a visual perspective. The real shame is that by the time they figured out how to build high quality coasters it was too late. I don't think steel coasters get much more visually pleasing than Tennessee Tornado. In general I find just about everything from the main Euro manufacturers to be a little too sterile and utilitarian. In that sense RMC is definitely a breath of fresh air.1 point

@MickeyD do the marks go all the way through to where the green lantern ride que comes through? Just wondering if they might make changes to the GL que to allow for the new coaster entry to be where the GL one currently starts?1 point

It could be bringing out the viewing area, so like what DW did for Wipeout, allowing spectators to get closer to view.1 point

I'm certainly talking about the X style track1 point

Sofar @docoaster has hit the nail right on the head with his digital theory, both with track style AND location! Impressive stuff. I'm keen to see if he's managed to predict the rest accurately as well π1 point

They've had a busy afternoon, and really looking forward to this airtime hill turn (whatever it is)1 point

If that head chopper on the right ends up as low as it looks I'm going to have a tough time trying to keep my hands up1 point

Just for those who don't live locally can get even more of an idea how huge this thing is IRL, this is the new view of MW from the other side of the M1 lol... Oh, I could also see that they were lifting another track part up with the crane as we were driving into on the M1. So should be even more track progress to share for whomever gets the next lot of photos βΊοΈ1 point

Maintenance workers spotted working on the Wipeout today. Definitely looks like improvement work, as opposed to demolition work lol... I'm confident it will reopen, despite its reopening date being pushed back a couple of times π The orange paint on the supports is now gone: They are also repainting the path leading into Ocean Parade: Also just a random observation I made that the Mine Ride exit is no longer completely barricaded off anymore:1 point

I think you need to use other 4-across tracks when comparing to B&M. Vekoma's Battlestar Galactica is a great example of this. Even though it now longer runs 4 across trains, the engineering was done for that. While I'm a fan of the Cylon coaster, I'm not a fan of these track styles - I find the spine is too wide which makes the tie out to the rail distance quite small. It looks more like a ladder than a coaster. My favourite track style is the Intamin 4-tube style:1 point

Ok mate, we get it. you don't have to put Adventure Worlds AW for every post.1 point

So i've given up trying to change and update the predicted dates I have on my fridge. it currently looks like this:1 point

Thanks @AlexB π Although I would have appreciated the slightly less sarcastic response. This is the first time I've had this issue happen.1 point

Visited Sea World today for the first time in ages, so thought I'd do a post about it for those interested, since the park hasn't been discussed for a while. Although be warned in advance, there isn't a huge amount to really report. No real visual changes with the Vikings Flume ride as yet, the ride appears to have been sitting stagnant since its closure. Although worth mentioning that the sound of power tools could be heard coming from the roof of the castle earlier this morning, not sure if related or not but would make sense if it was lol: The park was fairly busy for the last day of interstate school holidays, Ray Reef was pulling in quite a modest sized crowd around its first presentation time: Still no real movement happening for the water park either, although some relatively new signage has gone up along the monorail fence: Today was World Penguin Day (well, officially it's Tuesday but the park was celebrating today to avoid Anzac Day conflict) so naturally they had some celebrations happening for the event, including a free prebooked arts & crafts workshop for kids: Plus discounted Penguin merch for today only: (Obligatory penguin photo for World Penguin Day lol): The Gold Coast's one and only Monorail is looking good, if not a bit bare now since all its in-park advertising was stripped off a while ago: The Our World of the Dolphin show is still taking place at the pool near the front of the park, although I decided not to wait around for an hour to see it (maybe next time lol: The Storm Coaster was slow to open this morning, witnessed what appeared to be numerous test cycles focused on the brake runs before it eventually opened to the public around 11am: All in all it was a nice day to visit the park weather wise this morning, despite not having any real signs of improvement work happening anywhere. Hopefully they will start soon, I suspect Sea World will be next in line once they finish dolling up WB Movie World π So yeah, that's what's happening and not happening at Sea World of late lol βΊοΈ1 point

If you are talking about A @Theme Park Girl I might be able to shed some light on that. Behind that block wall is the main cold room. A new small store room was to be built so staff could travel from the cold room to the Market Place without going outside. Door 1 is the old door into the cold room. Door 2 is the door that leads into the Market Place. I can't tell from your photo if it has been completed but from the last Lego construction photo I could find the area was still open.1 point

I'm glad Disney caved. The 501st are a genuinely neat charity organisation, they'd be insane to try and close them down. Looks like a great weekend to flex some photography muscle.1 point

It's been explained before. open an internet browser click in the address bar type "www.google.com.au" reading the article title words in the media link - type those into the search box. In this case "ardent-leisure-ceo-deborah-thomas-to-be-replaced-by-simon-kelly" (without the hyphens) Click 'search' Scroll through the results until you find the media outlet originally posted (in this case the Autralian), or - you know - feel free to read the same article from many other news outlets that don't have a paywall. Now you know how to do it, the first one has been done for you: http://bfy.tw/BR7T-1 points

Have just removed a bunch of posts as I think it's been said enough times to keep things in topic. Last night I split a bunch of posts off this thread, however that wasn't enough of a hint to keep discussions on topic so today I'm less forgiving and they're just gone. Its not hard to start a new thread if you want to take the convo off direction. This isn't TPR.-1 points
