At the risk of derailing the thread, and hoping that perhaps one of the mods might split this off separately.... The best source of info for SP7 is actually the Wonderland History group on facebook - find them here5 points

@Slick I feel like I can be the dick here before someone else beats me to it and pedantically correct you. Latteral forces are not what lets you spin. It's greater wind pressure on the wings. In the outside seats you go faster as the circumference of your 'flight' is larger. Also at the front there is nothing in front of you to block the airflow so you get greater lift still. #someonehadtodoit #sorrynotsorry4 points

And for those playing along at home who like to do the respectful thing of crediting sources of information, here's the official website. http://movieworld.com.au/rides-and-attractions/family-entertainment/dc-super-heroes-and-super-villains.aspx3 points

Yeah easily the best since Shrek. It's almost the perfect movie for the park, I really dig it.2 points

Sorry, not sure what I need to be clued in about?? I was under the assumption the post that @Gazza made was speculation on his behalf, which he has now stated was a random guess. I also stated that my post was speculation based off some very brief google searching and from what has already been mentioned in the thread so far. I am happy for my speculation to be way off, just pointing out what I have found with no other knowledge I would say Gumbaya Park is pretty established, opening in 1978, albeit relatively small and underdeveloped. A new consortium has recently purchased the park, as posted by @ash.1111 above, and with this info on linkedin (Mark Shaw), looks like they will have a reasonable capex to run with for expansion ( I have made bold the relevant part): Gumbaya Park, according to articles found online, is also one of only 4 establishments in Victoria that holds a zoo license (Presumably the other 3 being Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Zoo and Healesville Sanctuary). So this ties in well with the animal tag that is attached to this thread. To my knowledge, Adventure Park to not have any animal enclosures or animals on display? Again, I am happy to be wrong, but I am leaning towards Gumbaya Park as the basis of this topic. And with 420 odd acres to play with, loads of space!!2 points

Think of when you were on a playground swing, making yourself swing rather than having someone push you. You would have done it by shifting your bodyweight and legs. Same thing here to build up enough momentum to flip, use your bodyweight and the wings to get going. Once you get into a spin, you can tuck your legs up and duck your head down a bit to bring your center of gravity closer together, which makes it easier to maintain a fast spin.1 point

Road Runner and Wile.E were only in the parade for a little while after the 4D movie was introduced. Foghorn comes out every now and then. I've only seen him in the parade twice.1 point

The space probe campaign started LONG before the ride opened. It was an ultimate teaser campaign. The fact that the ride was sponsored by ch 7 and the initially teaser featured their logo meant nobody new if this was a new show, a movie, or what it was. Later into the campaign there were hints this was a ride or something. Once major hype was established the Wonderland logo FINALLY appeared. Safe to say we all couldn't wait to ride!!! Nowdays campaigns are very literal and they can't help but splash the park logo on from the get go so there is much less mystery and hype. Fun fact, Lynton Harris was responsible for Space Probe.1 point

Having done virtually this exact same thing not too long ago, it's probably cheaper to fly up at 6am on the Tuesday, bus in to Surfers, grab some breakfast and drop your bags off, then head to the parks rather than flying up on the Monday1 point

Superman Escape Closed for scheduled maintenance on Monday 5th June and will re-open on Saturday 24th June 2017. Closed for scheduled maintenance on Monday 10th July and will re-open on Monday 24th July 2017.1 point

I really think Abyss was marketed and teased really well. This was the offical TVC teaser. Plus there are the 2 news reports and other marketing videos. they also had a nice launching ceremony. These are the the 2 news stories they ran. And these are the Kraken ones.1 point

Nothing in Australia has touched or come close to Space Probe 7s campaign. Although for building hype and intrigue Bermuda was pretty good too. Both way before social existed. I I think Holiday World's campaign for their Wingrider coaster was pretty damn fine.1 point

Patience. Don't flap like a dill. Pretend you're skiing (so throw your arse into one side of the seat as if you're counterbalancing) and flap one side up and one side down, then throw your arse the other side and bank the flaps the other way. Keep repeating and the sway will get bigger and bigger until you invert, and then you just hold. Yeah also another good point, go out the outer left seats. More lateral force = easier to pull off.1 point

No mention of Superman and the 010002 campaign? Where would you grade that one @Skeeta1 point

If we go by history & my own special formula of relativity, I have already graded the theming for the new Hyper based on what was released for a new attraction. 1.STORM COASTER revealed little but delivered a lot. 2. SUPER-VILLAINS/DOOMSDAY DESTROYER Told us nothing but gave us way more than a ride. 3.JUSTICE LEAGUE: ALIEN INVASION 3D Delivered an as expected MW dark ride. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. GREEN LANTERN COASTER Talked about stats but teased with theme too. 9999999999999999999999999999. HYPERCOASTER Gave stats only and showed no theming. d What should we make of this?1 point

It's simple. Take the front left seat. Pretty much zero effort required to spin.1 point

Since it's maintenance period wraps up at the end of this week, I didn't see a point including it. it was deliberate.1 point

Go on a really windy day. You will find the best time to get a spin going is when you're at the top, as there's more wind up there to get you going. Once you do get a spin just hold your position and you should keep on going until the end (that said - even I find it hard to stay spinning just because it does your head in after a while).1 point
-
I've found the trick is to position the wings opposite ways before you even start, and then once you get released you already have a swing. Then once you've swung as far as possible, you change the wings over, until the swing is complete, and then you just repeat until you're spinning. Then you just hold the wings in place. A lot of people change the wings position to quickly and that's why they can't get it to spin. I really think they should play a video or have some images in the queue to show people how to do it properly, if they do want to spin1 point

When I see the magenta track, I think chaotic, wild, and fun. None of those relate to Wonder Woman, I think it would be pretty unexpected if it was anything but a villain.1 point

Thanks as always @Theme Park Girl, another great job from the Super-talented folks at the Costume Department !1 point

Can't see it being themed to Wonder Woman. The colours don't make sense. Old school Wonder Woman's colours are bright red, blue, yellow, white. New school Wonder Woman is darker... dark red, dark blue, gold, greys, blacks. None of these colour combinations match or would make sense with an extremely dominating bright magenta track1 point

Yeah, she's been there for a few weeks now. As for the new parade, I'm sure more will be revealed very, very soon... probably sooner than we think, given the school holidays are only a couple of weeks away 😁😉👍1 point

Well, all current characters that you can see in park on almost a daily basis are: (underlined obviously DC) Bugs Bunny Sylvester Daffy Duck Lola Bunny Tweety Bird Granny Marvin the Martian Porky Pig Scooby-Doo Shaggy Joker Harley Quinn Catwoman Batman Superman Wonder Woman Supergirl Green Lantern Flash Marilyn Dorothy Gale Austin Powers Audrey Hepburn They also have a lot of costumes even for characters that aren't WB or DC related.1 point

I really would like a Wonder Woman coaster just for something different. No doubt some idiots would singe saying "bla bla pink, sexist, I'm a Vegan, bla bla" But Wonder Woman *something* *something would be fine with me.1 point
-
I don't know if you can call Wonder Woman an uncertain theme though. Even if the movie was a dud it'd still be a safe theme. I've been saying since the start a big DC hero, either Wonder Woman or Flash would've been perfect, the fact that against the odds DC have turned out a good movie for a change doesn't change affect whether a character is timeless or not.1 point
-
Yeah.. better stick with Suicide Squad instead then huh? Or maybe something like Bizarro, a theme that nobody has heard of? Meh.1 point

The trackwork isn't complete yet, but there's already many reasons why I would love to ride Movie World's new hyper - if I had the money The drop, if the NL2 animation is accurate enough, should be one of the highlights of the coaster. It is steep and twisted, which should provide an amazing mix of airtime and snappy laterals similar to Expedition GeForce's first drop! Hopefully the trains will be long enough to make the most out of that drop. Snappy transitions seem numerous on this hyper, and with the very comfy and not burdening Mack restraints, I'm sure they'll be exciting to experience on-ride. Hopefully, the layout will contain more pops of airtime. While the ejector air I've felt on Mack coasters (Alpina/Helix) isn't the strongest, it's still good fun! A big sustained airtime hump would really be a big selling point. And finally, this coaster just looks really pretty! Vibrant colours, sweet curves and a gorgeous background, it is very picturesque and makes me want to ride the coaster even more. Overall, this is shaping to be a very solid attraction. I can tell it will be very reridable and memorable1 point

It has been confirmed that the track colour is "Fuschia"... Sorry but you just have trust me on this one...0 points

I agree with Gazza, 0 inversions would be better than just 1. Airtime > inversions for me any day. I feel the inversion on Cheetah Hunt is totally unnecessary. If we get a massive airtime hill after the drop, & bunny hills back to the station after the helix I will be happy-1 points

Did not @Gazza's post of Adventure Park's location being 1 hr and 15 min also from the airport clue you in?? Also to the fact that Adventure Park is well established and has already announced planned for expansion attractions. Gumbaya Park seems to me a little too small for this, despite Mark Shaw's involvement with the park. Adventure Park seems like a better fit for this announcement. Also the time frames do not add up for mine for a completely new park- mid November would be extremely tight to open a brand new park from scratch if they have just started clearing the land. My bet is Adventure Park. Either way , looking forward to seeing more info about this one!-1 points
