  1. To add further to my earlier report, I now understand this is the new attraction planned from 2019.
  2. Yeah - we didn't see a trading halt prior to the sale of WnWS, so I doubt this is an indication of a park sale, so what Skeet says is highly likely. As for whether they're losing money, I don't think the VRTP parks are suddenly super un profitable - I think its more a case of getting caught with their pants down with Rivals and Top Golf when the TRRR incident happened, and they had laid themselves thin to win, and the risk is coming back to bite them because they had a much smaller buffer than normal right when they needed it the most. I've noticed many cost cutting efforts happening everywhere lately, and this is probably as good a reason why as any.
  3. Thanks Brad, Pin and Rappa, Let's take some key points here: The XT\Skyloops still appear on the website, and as stated, they'll make anything for the right price. The manufacturer will continue to provide support to existing customers regardless, for the reasonable life of the product. These weren't my only points, as Joel's original arguments also stated that "Maurer no longer makes any rides that contain: 1- X-train 2-Lap Bars 3-Vertical Lifts" and through the direct website info, I showed that their options continue to include vertical lifts and lap bar restraints. Gladly, he provided the full screenshot of his ridiculous email, and judging by the timestamps (posted Saturday, received "yesterday") he's only emailed them to confirm after I've called him out, so it wasn't information he had to hand when he made his original assertions (on Thursday). Finally, his full name "Joel Ottaway" has lead me to connect the dots that he is Troy Ott (away) A.K.A. @totta3 A.K.A. @Minions! very dumb, stupid, annoying younger brother. Knowing the Ottaway family history on these forums, it explains everything.
  4. It's really great that you took the time to waste a ride manufactures time to get info that was already obvious. Your point is the stupid one. Given you can get an original spec Arrow train made right now from the original manufacturer (even if it's changed hands 3 times!) the fact a ride model is no longer produced has NOTHING to do with original manufacturer support and parts. Movie World just had White Water West (who bought Hopkins) work with them on changes to Wild West Falls, another ride where even the manufacturer doesn't exist any more. As for the X Car stuff only being listed as Specials on their website. Any manufacturer will happily make you something that no longer produce for the right price! Your efforts to shoot down people on this forum and make them look dumb is actually only serving to expose you as the ignorant one 'my stupid friend'.
  5. @rac2703 I 100% agree. It can be compared to DW's Nickelodeon Central rethemeing to Dreamworks Experience. They are the same rides, but with completely different themes, so they have to change the name - you can't have a ride themed to gingerbread called Spongebob Fly Pants. Scooby coaster, however, is still keeping the Scooby Doo theme so they can't call it a new ride when it is still the exact same ride with the exact same theme, just with some new lights.
  6. They changed the overall theme of the Lethal Weapon, so They had to change the name, so that point isn’t exactly valid. If they kept it as Leghal weapon theme and added a Lethal VR they could have just called it “Lethal Weapon: Next Generation”. If they changed the Scooby to “Jokers Funhouse” then yes a name change is valid. But by keeping it a Scooby theme people will ultimately just call it the Scooby Coaster regardless, so a major name change is unecessary.
  7. It's a bit like "New Myer" and "Target Tomorrow" in the retail world. Just marketing words. Nobody remembers after a few years, and at the end of the day they didn't really change their names.
  8. I wasn’t advocating them selling WnW, just saying IF another park was on the chopping block, i believe that would be the choice - based purely on its seasonality and that Parques may have signified an interest in taking on both parks. In further hindsight, PC may be an attractive purchase for Merlin and fits within the type of attraction they already run in NSW & Sunshine Coast.
  9. -As expected, Tower of Terror did not reopen successfully today. It has instead been pushed back to the 16th of July. - The Claw closed all day yesterday however according to Ride Express it has now reopened. - Maintenance indicates GD is open however Ride Express indicates it is still closed. - Super Tubes has been pushed back another month, indicating a reopening date of 1.10.18. That's over 3 months of maintenance. - Little Rippers has been pushed back until 16th July.
  10. No issues these days but when I was bigger, I found the back rows on those Mack trains to be slightly more generous. So if you're borderline just aim for an even-numbered row on Rivals.
  11. I mean really, if they had any interest in not being shit, the building IS in Ocean Parade. They should be looking to do something like Voyage to the Iron Reef at Knott's. Not a cheap out version, literally that exact same ride. Get some family appeal in there, have a dark ride offering, and ease back into adding rides without the impression they might be 'scary' in any way.
  12. Thanks for the Dreamworld compliment. I'm actually English but more or less an Aussie these days!
  13. What the actual hell I was really hoping they WOULDNT choose that name!!
  14. Unsure if this fence is related to Buzzsaw, however I think Buzzsaw will remain closed for a very long time. For unknow reasons Maurer no longer makes any rides that contain: * X-Train * Lap Bars * Vertical Lifts It seems interesting that they still make all the other coasters though. Dreamworld are probably now scratching their heads as what do we do with it because they have learnt that they need to have the manufacturer approve design modifications and assist with annual maintenance as well as provide specific parts to fix the ride. Could be a long time before we get to "take a spin on the Buzzsaw" again and that's only IF the issues get resolved.
