Not sure if folks have noticed but Aussie World's website has gotten a refresh and earlier today they launched a cool new TV Ad: I think it's all really neat and gives the big parks a solid run for their money. What do you think?4 points

Relevant enough for Warner Bros. to build a whole new park overseas with those characters in it. Marvin the Martian Rocket Ride was in the top left of the satellite view @themagician posted. Kid's areas are Dreamworld's biggest strength and Movie World's biggest weakness - the park is aching for some more attractions the whole family can do, and not just tweens & adults. I've said it once and i'll say it again, Driving School needs to bugger off pronto and the entirity of that shed needs to be a giant air-conned space packed to the brim with kid's rides like Mermaid Lagoon at DisneySea or Warner Bros. World's Cartoon Junction & Bedrock lands. The facilities and storage that their tech department uses in the other half of the former Looney Tunes River Ride shed can be easily built/relocated whilst it'd be an order of magnitude harder to build something that competes with Dreamworld somewhere else in the park. As for the outside area - you could literally cmd+c & cmd+v a whole page off Zamperla's website and it wouldn't matter - so long as the space continues to feel well themed and has plenty of shade, food choices and things to see/do they'd have something that would rival Dreamworld.2 points

This ad makes me more excited than the current VRTP ads. Obviously VR had more rides and stuff, but I reckon AW's advertising is better.2 points

I noticed that Luna Park was doing up the facade for the Wild Mouse on their IG story (They've made it 3 dimensional now which makes it look a lot nicer). They were also repainting some of the clown heads. Nice to know they're still putting in work into things that need it, and not just the rides. I hope all the facades down 'Slideshow Alley' get done up in the future... I really think the park needs it.2 points

Here's some clues on what I think needs to happen to the kid’s area. Before I get hate mail a good portion of the kids will be removed before we blow it up. The area is so old parents are taking their kids on rides they rode when they were kids. Problem is things that were cool 27 years ago now remind you of grandma’s house.2 points

Tower along with all the other coasters are Dreamworld have queues due to their stupidly low capacity. Building a low capacity ride and getting long queues doesn't mean it is popular it just means it is horrible at handling crowds.2 points

Hmmm.. 'and this time the Bushrangers will wreak havoc on the Dreamworld Express' The peeps at TPSN once again showing their age and lack of knowledge. Maybe they should consider a career at the Gold Coast Bulletin? In case you were wondering, the Bushrangers along with Ned Kelly once Hijacked the Cannonball Express daily. The Bushranger show from the banks of the Murrisippi on Captain Sturt also ran for many years after the train heist ceased way back in the 80's2 points

Actually I take that back - I just searched around hashtags on Instagram and was able to find a shot of it. (I'll attach the image here) The first two photos are the BEFORE and the third photo is what it looks like now. Enjoy1 point

If I had a dollar every time someone on these forums complained about ToT’s extended downtime, I’d have enough money to knock the ride down and upgrade the giant drop.1 point

Yeah I checked earlier and had no luck (Sorry!) It was only one pic of it, but from what I remember, it was basically just a 3D version of whatever the 2D facade was. None the less I still think it looked snazzy but I’ll let you be the judge haha.1 point

Any chance of accessing this story or is it long gone now? If not, I usually go down to the park on Saturdays and take photos of the progress so I'll try and do that again this week; I've been posting the updates done to the Rotor on the Old Sydney Album Facebook page.1 point

I think that they just need 1 or 2 good quality attractions and give the area and current rides a reprint.1 point

I don't think they need to build a new kids area, just expand on what they have. The Looney Tunes is a great IP for a kids area, and with already so much DC in the park, they don't need a kids area dedicated to it. Looking at this satellite image, they could easily install a new attraction where the old Marvin the Martin Rocket ride used to be, and obviously we know they have half of the show building too.1 point

I thin he meant a "Warner Bros World" (Like the one in Abu Dhabi) not a "Warner Bros. Movie World World" (Like the driving school).1 point

Not going to help with this particular circumstance, but for historical QLD images, go to https://qimagery.information.qld.gov.au/ You can select suburbs, or even sections of the map. It will then search and report back any aerial's it finds. There are some good ones of the Studio's, then Movie World under construction, then complete on there. Haven't checked out the other parks.1 point

The Junior Driving school consists of existing themes and rides. My idea referred to a whole new area with new themes and franchises.1 point

From tpsn BUSHRANGER SHOW RETURNING TO DREAMWORLD The infamous Bushranger show which used to be experienced while riding the Captain Sturt paddle steamer will be making a return to Dreamworld. The show is likely to have some differences and this time the Bushrangers will wreak havoc on the Dreamworld Express. This will be an ongoing addition to the park and will be commencing soon.1 point

I'd love to go up there on a climb and take in the park, studios etc, take some pics etc, just a tad pricey, but the concept itself I like!1 point

Outside there is the attractions name, and it is obvious where you enter. Inside there is this character jelly fish (the name slips my mind), which points you in the direction to go, and states a number of facts throughout. Depaite there not being anyone in my photos, there was actually 3 people inside the lab while I was there. The tanks inside the lab contains a variety of jelly species. Some tanks had moving water, while some didn’t. There are a variety of interactive screens and signs that state what is happening and educating people about the variety of species.1 point

Both the previous two posts suggest we need a new ride like Loony Tunes River Ride! If only it were still there!1 point

it doesn't fit the overall area it currently sits in, but it may well be an indication of the direction they're going. (all jokes aside). Retheming goldrush into some sort of aviation space would be a far cry from a 'river ride' that killed people. Buzzsaw could easily retheme as the "red baron's barrel roll" - and it wouldn't even need much of a paint job! I'm visualising DCA's Soarin' area of Grizzly Peak. nondescript sheds can be hidden by 'hangar' theming. Paint the ground with random runway \ taxiway \ apron markings. Naturally don't install Grizzly River Rapids! The area lends itself well to many other aviation inspired attractions (such a shame Tailspin is at the other end of the street), but the area would open with a coaster, and a blockbuster 'simulator' style attraction. If you proceed with ToT removal (see other thread) GD would also connect well to the new theme, with plenty of space for outlets, and several flats which could be accomplished at minimal cost. the front building for i-ride could have the 'sidewalk gutter' painted red \ white \ yellow etc, with PA announcements "the white zone is for loading and unloading..." etc. The only difficulty would be the fairy shop - as it would need a retheme also... however perhaps it might be time to bring back the helicopter tours (which would be perfectly suited), provided the helipad is still usable given the buzzsaw sitting next to it. This actually sounds really good to me, and has me excited to see if they go in this direction. Of course, it is Ardent, so I fully expect to be disappointed - but i'd like to be (pleasantly) surprised!1 point

Myth: "the ride sits there for months on end with nothing being done to it" Reality: Many 'coaster style' rides have the ride vehicle removed, and taken to a maintenance workshop for maintenance. This would explain the lack of visual activity, whilst still being more than 'nothing' Extended downtime is usually an indication of an unexpected delay or issue - for example, a fault found during routine testing that was not anticipated requires further investigation or rectification. It can also be because a specific part needs to be replaced that wasn't anticipated, and has to be manufactured \ ordered from overseas. Some maintenance work is carried out outside of hours, due to workloads, or the impact such works would have on guests during the day - such as noise, or dust, or the need for large plant and machinery to move around the park's guest access areas But GD hardly makes any discernible noise if you aren't close by. Roachie said remove TOT, and use the tower for GD upgrades, which would still free up the space without getting rid of the tower. I couldn't say whether it has or hasn't. Fact is that the tower was built by intamin, so in theory they could supply suitably modified upgrades to suit. In theory the rolling stock could remain, and just a new seating arrangement could be attached with minimal modifications.1 point

With the announcement and demolshment of the great escape last year seems a great new announcement of what’s to come. This looks 1000% better than the old park which did have a lot of aging 90s slides. Will be good to see how it turns out. Photos are in the link. Phone wouldn’t let me upload them here. So a Dreamworld press release has been issued talking about the holidays, and it appears the Bushranger Show is returning, and will be part of the train ride. All Kinds of Happy at Dreamworld - MEDIA RELEASE final.pdf1 point

For $300 I’d expect my name immortalised on a plaque in the ride queue that teenagers can stick gum over for the next 20 years. $50 is about the limit of blowing cash for novelty value - and that’s all it is. It’s not a skywalk, it’s not a bridge climb.1 point

What is the f***ing point of the climb? I prefer the VIP option where I get to sit down all the way to the top.1 point
