  1. Currently travelling the North Run with 'The Beast', we have two shows left before we go into Brisbane for EKKA, GC Show and then back home for Melbourne Show (if COVID doesn't intervene), who knows what will happen before the end of 2021. There's a difference between setting the ride up and packing it as opposed to a major inspection. Yearly major inspections are carried out on the XXL with crack testing etc done to major bearings and pins with the addition of new sets of bolts.
  2. The industry is in big trouble. Currently a lot of the showmen are shut down as the underwriters have not renewed the policy's that have already expired. They guys currently still trading are using the current PLI, but when that runs out... unsure what will happen. All the big underwriters have pulled out claiming covid impacts and loss of income. Some experts are saying that because premiums were not paid and just a hand full of payouts happened, it hurt the bottom line, so the underwriters just pulled out. They have based alot of the data off the US and UK markets that have significantly higher claims and losses durring covid than the Australian market, and this is the problem when most of the underwriters come out of London.
  3. they both have rollers! and they coast! therefore they are the same!
  4. I think what’s impressive is the fact they’ve added 9 new attractions. I can’t think of a time when any theme park in the country has ever done that
  5. not sure if its just me, but i don't see LPS as needing to be 'immersive'. its hard to hide the harbour, and it was always a 'seaside fair' so a collection of rides well presented is all i'd ever ask of them.
  6. After coming across this article 2 days ago I thought I should share it with you guys on here. Maybe you've read it already or maybe you already know the relevant information but anyways... https://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/dreamworld-announced-topping-off-of-steel-taipan-rollercoaster/ Key takeaways from the article: - Late 2021 opening once electrical works, load station building, landscaping and commissioning have been completed. - Rollercoaster train set to see Australian shores in early July, with installation on the ride's track planned for early August. - "Fresh theme park attractions are important to the Gold Coast's visitor economy" It's exciting to see how quickly the ride is coming along with the next two months creeping with theming, landscaping and load station building works due to be completed, as well as the welcoming of the trains and its spinner. Almost entering the second half of the year, late 2021 isn't too far away now...
  7. When my parents got the internet for the first time in 1997 the monthly data allowance was 30mb. I thought it was ridiculous when 12 months later we got upgraded to 200mb/mth
