  1. Just so we are all on the same page, you said, 'In a scarily similar / eerie situation'. The ride has a scarily similar name to Thunder River Rapids. You didn't explicitly state it but you were maliciously implying it. I feel most people that have read this understand that you were clearly trying to link the two events together due to similarities in name and the fact you clearly highlighted it, that is just how its read. If that wasn’t your intention, then you've worded it wrong, not everyone else misreading it. There’s really no other logical way to read it given the wording and associated connection you established.
  2. Adventure Park teased on their socials yesterday that two new rides are going to open in June. https://www.instagram.com/p/DXbS_UNAbsH/ On their website they've already added one of the new rides to their rides page. https://www.adventurepark.com.au/water-park/explore/rides/drop-zone Seems like it'll be a new 20m drop tower. The header image seems to be of a Larson/ARM Super Shot which excited me at first, however the photo is AI generated and Adventure Park's website website says the ride will have a 90cm height restriction while Larson states the minimum height of a Super Shot is 48 inches (122cm). I'm not going to hold my breath on it being a Larson model, though I do hope it'll be one as the only other example in the country (Hair Raiser) is closed indefinitely.
  3. I feel there's enough of an implication there.
  4. ^hmm good pickup. The hero image on the website definitely looks like a Larson/ARM Super Shot, and, ARM rides make a 70ft (21m) version as standard called the SUPER SHOT 400. To make things even more confusing, the official ride spec sheet for this version (see below), states a minimum height requirement of 42"/107 cm. https://www.armrides.com/super-shot-400/ https://www.armrides.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/SuperShot_400_Specs.pdf So I'm still leaning towards it being an Larson/ARM tower at this stage, and the min height requirement on the Adventure Park website is currently a typo. Or perhaps ARM has updated their seating/harness design to allow for a lower height requirement. Who knows.
  5. Scarily? Please. Let's not be too dramatic. The difference here is the conveyor is an actual belt rather than slats. You can also see the belt stops moving right at the end of the video extremely quickly. Rafts are supposed to stop at the bottom of the conveyor. Something has occurred here that shouldn't have that has lead to the raft in front being swamped, but you can see in the evac that that raft is inclined and on the belt, so my guess is the evaced raft was lifted out after it was empty leaving the swamped one behind. It's not ideal. but the comments on the original video are more concerned about the guy wearing timberlands than any serious safety concern. The only people hyping this up are people referencing dreamworld and we've already done to death why dreamworld's installation is nothing like the intamin installs overseas.
