  1. Last week Coast Entertainment had their 1H25 Results Presentation, which can be seen here: https://announcements.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20250221/pdf/06fs1nwvq8dkh4.pdf This presentation didn’t hint at anything new that we don’t already know about, but to summarise the presentation… Dreamworld is starting to do well. Some key points: - Ticket sales increased by 7.1% compared to prior year and is the highest sales since 1H16. - Visitation up 10.8% compared to prior period. - Operating revenue up almost 10% compared to prior year. - Annual Pass sales up 107% compared to 1H17. - Their Global Review Index is up 87.7, compared to VRTP which dropped to 80.0 - King Claw is expected to cost $13-14 million (The Claw cost $6 million, but adjusting for inflation is about $10 million).
  2. Movie World are currently constructing a new building behind HSD and is visible when within Kids WB. I’d imagine this would be for BOH storage or maintenance. Photos by @Ogre
  3. It’s to my understanding the rides closed for a few days so they can install some more theming and commission some effects. The gemstone is starting to look better And they’ve painted the metal backing for the waterfall so it blends in

  5. VRTP are now offering an annual pass for non-locals that is essentially their Lite One Pass. It’s $199 (which is the same price as their 7 day pass, and $20 cheaper than a 14 day pass). They say it is only for a limited time though: https://themeparks.com.au/tickets/annual-adventure-pass Could this be their response to One Passes not selling as well because locals are fed up with the parks (maintenance, long wait times, too expensive, etc.)?
  6. @Levi if they tidy up the mess on the former Sea Viper land, they’ve got plenty of room left. They’ve got the former Rocky Hollow station land and the castle land. And they’ve removed the SkyClimb in Castaway Bay, so there’s that land too.
  7. Almost a year later, but since no one posted about it... the shed is complete
  8. You certainly would hope, but I don’t have faith in this being the case
  9. @Narra great pick up! You can also see the weld join in original construction photos
  10. Considering they have been so perfectly cut and every part of the ride was carefully removed, I think it’s still being sold/relocated, but for transportation reasons they’ve cut the structure in half. They can be welded together and strengthened to ensure the structural integrity isn’t compromised. It’s a lot easier (and cheaper) to transport 8 smaller columns than 4 larger ones.
  11. They definitely did and I believe they’ve still got plans for Nintendo too Just past the decade mark, Puss in Boots opened in Jan 2015
  12. Almost 6 years later, the Minions Land officially opened on Friday. Here’s a good article I came across providing a good overview of the whole land https://dejiki.com/2025/02/uss-minion-land-grand-opening-tour/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaZGSjUDnkHsyFxhiD8vCH5V45T5H3TBo049HrKwlBrTo2tXc-ietVyhC_U_aem_weOfdH_CiCMC5iUOR3ZrdQ
  13. The CEO of the Big Banana has confirmed this Alpine Coaster has been ordered and is on its way. It’s a $5 million investment, will be opening later this year, will be just under 1km long, will have two lift hills in sections be 12m above the ground. The name hasn’t yet been confirmed (Plantation Coaster is a name being considered). Credit to Dane’s Theme Park Life for the interview with the CEO revealing this info.
  14. No we can’t, but when you compare their ride ops to DW and how quickly the park can pump out guests on Jungle Rush and Steel Taipan, Village ain’t doing something right.
  15. I hope so too, but while they’re owned by the current parent company and the current management is in charge, we ain’t going to see anything good come from this park.
  16. You’d think so. The Flash is currently closed for unscheduled maintenance which could be related to Superman closure, but flash is still scheduled to close after Easter
  17. @TV15 possibly, but that could still be leftover from when that was the original opening date. Like how Scooby was ‘reopening’ June 3 because it didn’t appear on the calendar. My point being, the dates written had a from - to, but it was updated to just be from
  18. They would rather buy a new version of the ride, tell us it’s better, when in fact it’s so much worse (ie. Wipeout/Vortex)
  19. It’s funny how when it’s bearing the end of the ride ops shift they suddenly find this extra pace to get everyone through the queue so they don’t have to stay back (obviously this might not be the reason, but a funny thought)
  20. I’ve heard from multiple sources that the land did in fact cost $100 million, but I still don’t fully understand how. The cost did include the removal of Arkham Aslyum, all the site prep, new services and stormwater connections, coasters, theming, IP contract, etc.
