  1. I wouldn’t take that is fact yet because it’s likely they just forgot to extend the closure to match what the calendar goes to. I don’t think it’s offical reopening date will be confirmed until a few weeks before it will actually reopen.
  2. I’d say it’ll just keep getting pushed back until Rivertown opens
  3. I’ve heard the inside fit out is almost complete and the exterior was being repainted last week. I think the park are really pushing to have all four areas (store, motors, jungle rush and restaurant) to all be complete upon the offical opening. There might be some little details here and there to finish off later, but I’d say the land will be at least 95% complete when opening.
  4. For those who didn’t even think the land would be open until Easter, the park has announced a After Dark event on January 18 that will have the land open for. Based on the rapid progress so far this month, I think they’ll be ready for Boxing Day.
  5. Interesting (but good) it’s a passholder exclusive, but when it’s only $10 entry it’s great to see if they’re giving passholders exclusive access to ride the claw at night for one last time and the opportunity to check out Rivertown at night for the first time.
  6. I know you know this, but for anyone who may not. When the Vintage Cars first opened (in their original Rivertown location) they didn’t have a roof. I believe in the late 90s (around the time TOT opened) roofs were added to the cars. When the attraction relocated to the back of the park, they still had the roofs, but were removed (in 2019 I believe) when it became ‘Vintage Cars Adventure’ when koalas exhibits were added to the ride.
  7. Tower of Terror used to be listed as Main Street attraction and you had pass through ABC Kids/Dreamworks and Tiger Island to ride it. But being serious, there are future plans for the ride (whether it’s a retheme or replacement), but it’s not a priority so for now we’ll just have to accept that yes, you have to walk through the first 10 metres of Rivertown to go on a Main Street attraction.
  8. It already looks like a lot better job than the roof over the log ride boats. And I doubt the current management will make any of the mistakes the previous management made when it comes to retrofitting on site. I’d suspect the necessary consultants would’ve been engaged before just heading to Bunnings and buying some metal to join together.
  9. Jaggs shared this photo showing the vintage cars are being fitted to feature the roof and potential theming that we’ve seen in the concept artworks
  10. Jaggs shared these photos. So far I’m really impressed with the level of theming we’re seeing.
  11. *Fully 6 opened in 2019 But for comparison to WnW, they opened the Constrictor in 2011 and it took 10 years to open major new attractions, which were the replacements for Mach 5 (they did also add a couple slides to the kids area in 2014). Greg did also mention in the interview that if they were to do a lazy river they would want to do something special because the competition has one and they don’t necessarily want to replicate what others have done. I understand this perspective, but my option on it is if you just do a lazy river (maybe with a small rapids sections like the Victorian water parks have), do it well and make it the ‘best’ lazy river that would be enough because I’d argue people choose WnW over WWW purely because of the lazy river. I know people just go to WnW purely just to sit in the lazy river most of the day. If WWW made the lazy river an oasis destination and you felt like you weren’t at a water/theme park, give it a decent length, add some elements like waterfalls, rock work, etc, it would be beautiful and be a stand out for that park. And while they’re at it, build a new slide tower or two with attractions from ProSlide and they’ll be set for another decade.
  12. The park has announced Feb 14 as the Minions Land official opening date.
  13. They probably want that too, but considering at a higher level they decided to change the park to only be operational seasonally, it doesn't make sense to have someone who is purely in charge on running WWW. Yes, they could change the park back to being open all year round, but right now for Coast Entertainment it doesn't really make sense to have it open during the Winter. They wouldn't be running the park at a profit if that was the case. I would argue it should definitely be open more than it is, but closing after Easter and reopening in September makes sense (just look how quiet WnW can be during the Winter). As said in the interview, WWW's time will come, but right now it just isn't the focus. Yes the focus can be split accordingly, but to Dapto's point...
  14. This has since been updated so it is a part of Main Street
  15. It’ll be likely be for weight purposes. The new track isn’t flat, there’s slight up and downs and so the weight will ensure that the vehicles can make its way through the whole circuit without troubles
  16. In a photo shared by DW Golden Years you can see at the front of the car they’ve changed the bonnet as it used to be the solid green colour to match the rest of the car
  17. They do. It’s under the maintenance schedule page. https://movieworld.com.au/park-info/maintenance-schedule In February we usually see Superman Escape and the Batwing Spaceshot close.
  18. But with a roof and theming like they had originally shown in the concept artwork for the ride?
  19. That’s a good thing! You don’t want to see a smoke machine. If you look closely there are a couple of pipes a few hundred millimetres above the floor in the tunnel that could house the machines
  20. The ride is in testing, so if there is smoke they probably wouldn’t bother turning it on for testing.
