Jungle Rush has just opened again. Murrasippi motors is still closed.

Got off it and it was pretty damn good. (First car forward, front row) Of course it's too early to know if the dark ride sections are good as it's still in soft open. And they are running 2 trains

How much work do people think DW will get completed on the dark section before before it opens in 6 days?

At a guess, what you are seeing in the dark sections, is very close to the finished product.

I can’t imagine they’ll be adding many more physical elements to the ride, but there might be effects that haven’t been turned on just yet.

People's early reviews are a bit worrying if it is complete.  Temple looks, great, queue looks great, fingers gross the dark sections live up to the rest of the ride and it's not as big of an anti-climax, as my joke.

Two cows are in a field. Suddenly, from behind a bush, a rabbit leaps out and runs away.  One cow looks around a bit, eats some grass and then wanders off.

It wasn't one, and not 2 either.  I have to leave shorty, so guess I will miss out today.  On another note, Greg is looking smart in his Jungle Rush Khaki shirt.

Jungle Rush still hasn’t opened. But the ride has just started testing without riders. Murrissippi Motors is being tested by staff too.

Jungle Rush soft opened again this afternoon, and I got another ride on it! They've actually added a lot in the few days! There's even more theming and audio in the queue and station, and they've added more theming to the turntable room. It's also a lot darker now too, which was a big complaint I had the other day.

Also did Murrissippi Motors, which was a lot of fun.

Interesting to see they have incorporated a ramp and platform/dock alongside the river. Surely this is forward planning for a potential riverboat return? Or perhaps another sort of raft/boat ride? I can’t imagine why else they went to the expense of adding it. It’s not noticeable from anywhere so I highly doubt it was done just for theming. Thoughts?

We have an opening date…

To our valued passholders,

We’re thrilled to announce that ALL attractions in Rivertown will officially open this Monday, 23 December!

Fairly sure they just didn't remove the existing boardwalk when they demolished ABC Kids World

I can confirm the boardwalk is still there.

Certainly looks the more flushed out of the two theme park areas opening this summer from everything posted online

On top of that the painting for the pirate ship is also still there. Went there yesterday and it was amazing. Definitely one of if not the best themed area I’ve been too

Got to experience JR today for 3 rides.

the queue is fantastic and evoked memories from Indy at DisneySea. The atmosphere is great, the use of sound, the rumble/vibrations are felt when the train passes through etc. my only complaint would be I’d like to have seen the large snake have an animatronic involved to bring some movement to that area, but the water features and detail are fantastic and set a standard well above anything DW has ever delivered on.

loading is simple and efficient. There are signs to direct you to one of 2 queues for either forward departures or backwards departures. Grouper lets through 2-3 cycles worth into the station so it’s quick and easy.

great attitude and energy by staff, “get ready for jungle rush” etc by the main ops in the booth.

the ride itself is a heap of fun. Won’t describe it in detail but the dark ride sections are fun, I think I personally prefer the backwards departure but understand there could be some level of variation depending upon the day/time etc. really punchy on the corners make for some rib tickling on the side of the train if you are an arms up rider.

Did I mention a fully inside queue, air-con and fans? Because I should have, as it made all the difference to the guest experience

ride photos were a bit problematic with the screens not refreshing which meant keeping track of time and heading to the photo place at the exit, but it’s still in tech rehearsals so I won’t complain about that.

the clear winner by daylight in terms of the new GC park additions

btw, JR seems to use an air extraction system to cool down a building without having to use air conditioning (downside however is that you can still sweat near the station area and even Ride operators have their own mini fans) (TV assumes this with the tanks at the top of the building)

If that’s what it utilises it works. The area before the station has mounted fans, and it didn’t feel hot in there at all

Those aren't fans, those are actually hanging speakers. Kinda smart use of "hiding" them I would say.
The actual "fans" I think are in the sidewards cauldron things near the station itself.

Well something is blowing air towards you in that area. There is definitely some form of oscillating airflow be it fan, air con or whatever. The point is it’s comfortable and cool

The execution on this has been world class. They deserve all the credit they get. It’s amazing how much Dreamworld has evolved.

The only complants I've seen is people what more seating in the area.

This, I agree with a bit. But honestly? It's more so a minor issue that all they could do is add extra benches to the boardwalk or just outside the Jungle Rush building. Dreamworld has really gone above and beyond with everything else in terms of this land in both detail, experience and accessability. Although a question that ponders on my mind is how long both Dreamworld's Rivertown and Movie World's Wizard of Oz would last?
