Please don't misunderstand me - i'm not saying they shouldn't have opened - opening was unequivocally the correct decision. And i'm not saying it hasn't been done before or isn't a 'business as usual' practice.

I also think the ride looked mostly fine in it's opening state and by our local standards, you'd get away with leaving it at that (and they aren't, so kudos to them for doing that).

I'm just saying for me - the fanfare has passed. The ride will no doubt get it's finishing touches, but the 'first impression' opportunity is gone. The park won't come out and say when everything is done, so we're in that limbo period where every visit potentially will show something new (which is good) but there's no 'endgame' where we know they've definitively "finished" - one day it will just be 'done' and that's it.

@Guest 239or too expensive to maintain, is another reason why they get taken away.   The slow death of an attraction theming, because the park stops spending on the upkeep.  As soon as a park goes into a period where guest numbers dry up and clash flow slows, it's the first item the parks stop spending money on.

It's a dead give away of a parks financial state of play, when you see failing theming.

maybe the ride will close for a couple days after the holidays so they can do everything they need to do. maybe around the same time they’re installing the tracks behind JR.

Wasn’t dreamworld making record profits in the early 2010’s while theming was rotting away everywhere in the park (and as we know now safety practices were near non existent)?

I don't know if DW were making record profits 🤷‍♀️ but from the outside, it looked like DW's profits were being spent, on growing Main Event.

I'm curious on what you mean by that?

Efficiencies in the station were the best I have seen on any coaster in Australia, ever. The second the lap bars came up for one load to exit the ride, the gates were open and the next lot were moving in, lap bars checked and dispatched unbelievably fast.

Let’s hope VRTP are watching …

Whilst I have been happy to sing dreamworlds praises lately, yesterday was a let down compared to recent visits. The park was busy, not packed like my last two January visits, but still quite busy. Jungle rush was running one train all day. And we never saw the advertised wait below “60+”. We held off riding until just after 4pm, still advertised at 60, but waited about 45. The cycle was also different, we entered the switchback room three times, have never ridden a longer cycle like that before. But man the staff had the go slows, the ops in the station felt like we were visiting another park down the road a bit. They were really really slow. I assume there was an issue with the second train? Not sure why else you’d only run one train on your new signature attraction on both a long weekend and school holidays. Also seemed bizarre to me that they chose to run a longer cycle with such long waits. Everyone in the queue line was miserable. Extremely hot, and extremely slow moving.
elsewhere in the park Sky Voyager also had one of the slowest moving lines we’ve experienced, as did the icecream parlour. The line was well out the door and down the steps and they had two staff and only one till open. Remained like this for over an hour whilst we were in the area.
perhaps they were short on staff across the park? Anyways I assume this was a once off as lately they’ve been killing it with efficiency and guest experience. But yea not great across the park yesterday.

That's the only way the forwards and backwards cycles can work, the extra entry into the turntable allows for change of direction.

What do you mean sorry? They’ve been running both forwards and backwards simultaneously with both trains all month? Yesterday was the first day we had seen one train only. And a longer extended version of the ride.

I feel that could be how they would run with 1 train. As people line up for either forward or backward facing and there might be a train out of commission (mostly guessing because the ride itself has been going on for a while since opening), they might essentially add an additional loop of the first section before doing the second half.

With two trains, one train is ran backwards, and one is ran forwards. By already having the trains in these directions it only needs 2 turns on the turntable, whereas one train requires 3 to change direction as a forwards cycle departs the station backwards and returns forwards for the next backwards cycle. When the park is running one train, it completes the innerloop twice and outside loop once, whereas two trains complete the innerloop once and outside loop once.

Oh sorry I understand what you’re saying. Good point. I guess I just find it strange given the massive waits in that sauna of a queue. Would make more sense to me if they just closed one of the queues and only ran one departing option, to run the slightly shorter cycle. All that aside it was disappointing to see such slow ops in the queue after the world class ops we’ve seen in the last month. They were beyond slow. Had they been making the same effort on dispatches that we’ve seen recently the queue would have been half the length. Even with just one train. The dispatch was taking as long as the ride itself. It really was ‘village slow’.

I’m assuming it was an unavoidable reason the second train was out of action. I’d hate to think it was a decision that was made.

Why not shut down the backwards queue?  Not like it doesn't go backwards anyway.

Because one of the biggest marketing points about Jungle Rush is that you can have different ride experiences every time you ride, shutting one side ruins that

Was at Dreamworld today and while they were still only running one train on Jungle Rush (with the longer ride cycle), the ops were fantastic and despite being very busy, the wait time never went over 30mins. Must have just been a bad day yesterday.

water effects, a 3rd giant crystal and even more theming has been added into the dark ride sections of Jungle Rush. i find it crazy that they’re still adding more and more theming to it since opening, not just to the ride but the entire area, yet still keeping the attractions open.

Honestly, you can still enjoy an incomplete experience so long as it's mostly complete and enjoyable. (WoZ felt more like a one and done thing)

A bit of a play on words, but DW aren't really adding more theming.  DW are finishing the theming of the ride that wasn't completed before the ride open.  It's great DW are not impacting guest while completing the ride.

I couldn't really care less if you can't see this or not, but you're the one playing on words and ultimately being pedantic.

It is correct that they are finishing the themeing of the ride that wasn't completed before the official ride opening - however it is also correct to say that they have added more theming. Because they have - it wasn't there before, now they've added it.

Honestly sometimes your nitpicking goes too far.

Can we get some details on the water effects? Are we talking a large waterfall in the room? Or water spray/mist? Keen to hear more about what’s been added 😄

It’s a mouth figure with water coming out. Levi tagged the instagram video of it. I was there Monday and can confirm it was working as with the crystals that day
