Sure - but I don't think it should be - its the perfect spot for it, it takes new riders unawares, the blades make people think they're going to hit them so they're a little afraid, and the car is tilted in a way that all riders are unobstructed for the camera.

I also don't think the doors being in a high(er) speed place where there's no safety brake in case the doors fail to open is a good idea - if the doors fail, you either crash into the door or theres a new brake that results in a valley?

My thought was that the doors might be the opening to the elevator.

Oh, sorry - i'll speak slower for you. Too many people in the park, not enough rides operating, not enough rides operating at full capacity, not enough staff to operate the rides effectively, poo

I was cautiously optimistic of the ride returning to the opening (of the ride) standard when this was announced, but after Oz and various visible maintenance/upkeep issues around the park I don’t have

i'm not so sure the new showdoors in the update are going to be in that particular spot just because its the same shape and colour.

I just watched a POV of the ride and based off the slanted walls with the skeleton, these doors are indeed after the swinging axes

There's nowhere else in the ride that has sloped red walls like this, so I'm not sure of the reason for denying the doors being there.

I can see the doors have a seam at the edge so im presuming its like the doors on Test Track where they normally slide apart, but if they fail to open there are spring loaded hinges so they function like old ghost train school crash doors.

Some more evidence to your point

I'm not denying them being there.

I expressed doubt to ogre's suggestion, and explained my reasons for doubting it.

You replied that the camera could be moved.

I responded that I don't think it should be moved and again explained why I felt they shouldn't be going there. That's all.

I agree, the walls and doorway matches. After more info being posted I agree it's the most likely place (but just as a camera can move, so can a doorway or a sloped wall.)

I still don't think its the best place for a set of show doors for the reasons i've already given (and I think the suggestion of doors in front of the lift, so you can't see it arrive, etc would be really cool too) - but i'm not a ride designer - just a person with an opinion.

Genuinely curious how the capacity increase will work - if they're removing a brake does this mean one less brake zone?

Good to see the magnetic brake conversion too. If I wasn't prepared I swear I came off Scooby with a bruised spleen 😆

Remember that the initial closure was done very suddenly, which points to an unplanned event necessitating closure. So they wouldn't have commenced work immediately.

Chances are the majority of the time it's been closed has been awaiting new 'things' from various suppliers \ manufacturer.

The update videos they have posted have shown a lot of stuff is getting changed, and they're no doubt very close to being ready to reopen, but again - much of the time it's been out has likely been a waiting game.

Brake sections basically require a straight section of track to fit them and any drive motors in place.

So, something like scooby is going to be limited by the number of straight sections of track available if there were upgrades to the number of cars available.

Jaggs journey just uploaded a new video, quite interesting to be honest as to what’s in the pipeline. I hope they nail it, such an iconic ride

iirc, it's essentially a rehash of the blog written a couple years ago with footage of the original scooby doo coaster / coaster walk through.

I could be wrong here, but it looks like there is one of the demon's hand holding scoobys collar. Is this new, or have I just not noticed it?

Not new, part of the Next Gen additions

Thanks. Haven't seen any lights on povs of next gen. The few good parts of that version of the ride were all obscured by the darkness 😕

i can’t lie, seeing none of the theming has been touched in this section is a little concerning to me… i pray that those god awful “projection mapping” parts have been removed, ESPECIALLY that effect just before the elevator lift and the tv screen in the lift…
