Just noticed now but doomsday destroyed has been removed from park map in app as an attraction completely. Still shows on the map but no name or icon

A shame they don't have it operating until they knew what to do with the area. Like that would've been nice to help alleviate some of the stress on the other ride lines

It was very unreliable and was costing the park a lot to keep it running because of all of the work it needed

The ride was only unreliable because it was being run out of spec. It was essentially run into the ground due to “modifications”.
The ride just needs an overhaul to return it back to opening day condition, which the bean counters said no to.

A stupid one

It is, but it’s been happening for decades. It’s probably easier to list the rides that closed that they announced would be retiring, but here’s a list of what I can think of that has closed without notice:

Looney Tunes River Ride

Arkham Asylum/Lethal Weapon

Batman Adventure: The Ride

Bermuda Triangle

Sea Viper/Corkscrew

Pirate Ship

SkyHigh Skyway

Sea World Train

Monorail

Mach 5

Aqualoop
