Does anyone else think the Movieworld characters for Heroes and Villains look considerably worse this year? I've attached photos of the Riddler and the Penguin, both look like a considerable downgrade and actually look tacky.

Budget cuts, private equity, etc etc.

I believe these are guests who have dressed up. The park encourages people to dress up for the event and I think this is exactly that.

Unfortunately it is the official characters. Saw them both in the parade

It looks like a WB thing more than a Movie World decision. See WB World has these costumes, so maybe they need to align to the rest of the Worlds?

looks like a refreshed look across the board with many characters, so i'd say this may have been implemented at a level higher than VTP management and possibly by DC/WB themselves.

I actually don't mind that iteration of the Penguin, certainly has some roots from the comics and the Iceberg Lounge

Both characters appear to be based more on the comic versions than the movie versions.

And on that, the Abu Dhabi one above looks more Arkham games based.

Blander than their staff uniforms? (bring back themed costumes!)

I agree but I just see it getting even worse to be honest.

I think the costumes have taken a step up this year with bugs and Lola having superman and Wonder Woman costumes.

HSD2 attemps drifting, no attempted drifting in the parade.

Blander than some of the staffs attitudes?

I'm not a people person and I don't engage with staff.  They would probably call me a bland guest.

Blander than the theming of the Flash?

Flash theming might be better than Rivals theming but defiantly better than GL theming.  But all 3 attraction are piss-poor attempts at theming.

Blander than their food/merchandise options?

If you're willing to part with the cash, MW have some nice food & merch.  It's not bland, just expensive.

Staff uniforms are bland but at the end of the day I don't get off Rivals and think the ride sucked because of bland staff attitudes or bland staff uniforms.

Ehh. I'm not one for parades or shows, so the majority of people working in a park that I see are wearing their Ops costumes. When you see other parks and compare it to village, it's pretty damn bland. And I think it sucks.

Costuming has nothing to do with VRTP. It comes from WB who gives a directive. They want all WB affiliated parks to have the same characters which include costuming.

On the contrary taking the unique uniforms away from the likes of Superman (mrt officer) and Scooby (suit) detracts somewhat from the experience. when you are lining up to go on a subway through metropolis, your suspension of disbelief is diminished when a bloke in a blue village roadshow polo is giving you instructions on how to board.

I went to MovieWorld this last Saturday and it has been since White Christmas 2021 that I have watched a parade and I must say the parade was pretty lacklustre compared to some I have seen in the past. The choreography in the main street shows also feel pretty stale.

As for the characters, I do feel a small reduction in quality on some of costumes but overall they still have excellent interaction with guests. I particularly enjoyed penguin I thought he was highly entertaining. I do think the villains look way better than the heroes, Lantern and Superman look like costumes purchased by choice discount.

I think my suspension of disbelief ended after my 400th time of riding it.

And, by the end of the year, anyone's suspension of disbelief will end the moment they walk in the plaza & are greeted with the Yellow-Brick Road

Really? Don't you remember the scene in the Wizard of Oz when they are walking on the brick road and a train carriage flies by with Superman pushing it?

Most people who are visiting movie world have not been on superman 400 times
