@Sammus77 did you notice what the wait time was for Dreamworld Flyer? That ride has become the most popular in the park and with the largest capacity per cycle in the country it gets through crowds real quick. It does take a while to load though with so many seats to fill and check.

Yea I did, we walked past several times in the day and rode twice, the wait was advertised 15mins most times, at one point it said 30 but we got on in 10. Incredibly popular ride, and seems to be an absolute monster with riders p/h

The most I saw it go up to when I was there was 20mins, which was impressive considering how busy it was.

Good to hear DW doing well....been a long time!  Now, if only they had a couple of good water based rides!

Drive past Movieworld yesterday around midday, only half the car park was full? Dreamworld was overflowing. Couldn’t see if Movieworld had some of the car park closed off but yes was definitely only half full when I drove past.

So does this Mean Dreamworld is more popular than Movie World now or is it too early to call?

I drive past both parks twice a day for work, Dreamworlds car park the last month or so has definitely been the busier out of the two, probably helps that the GC weather has been amazing for White water world too

DW has the biggest range of rides, and more importantly - operational rides - of any theme park on the GC. If they are a half day park; then the others are 1/4 days being dragged out to full days by intentionally poor operations.

Half day park at best!  Truth is always confronting!

Jesus Christ - you went back 13 months to quote this?

There is only one possible argument that Dreamworld is a half day park and that argument is that their ops are efficient enough that you can actually ride everything.

The confronting truth is that while village might have the bigger blockbusters - they don't have enough to spread the crowds out, and tank their operations with slow load and unload procedures that blow out queue times to several hours.

It is ridiculous on a stage of worldwide theme parks that a little Mack HyperCoaster on the gold coast consistently drives wait times as high or higher than the biggest and most popular theme parks in the world.

What time do you work because DW doesn't open to 10:30 and is closed by 4?  These hours prove DW is a half day park.

(29 deg on the GC today and WWW is closed🤕)

First up in the morning and back by 330, but most days I’m driving past numerous times to different jobs around the area over the last month or so

QLD, NSW and VIC and the NT have all finished school holidays. The other states either finish today or tomorrow.

Being a weekday, out of school holidays, I can't imagine there'd be a lot of folk visiting WWW.

Can someone do a driveby of the WnW carpark?

Did you minus the cars for WWW?

Nah forgot to count them when I was doing 110k on the M1, I’ll try tomorrow

You wouldn't know how WnW operations are because you don't go to WnW because you don't like to walk remember.

You can keep making up excuses for WWW but the fact is, winter is over and the park should be open.

WWW are also good at making excuses, but not good at growing the business.

The only time you will reach 110 past DW, is when DW is closed.  😄

Probably too early to tell. But the tide is slowly turning.

From what I’ve seen, the view that Movie World has really gone downhill has become fairly mainstream lately. I’ve had many non-enthusiast friends, family and work colleagues tell me they’ve been disappointed in Movie World during recent visits and that they found Dreamworld to be far more enjoyable. I’ve seen similar discussions in various (non theme park related) online communities too.

I honestly don’t really care if it’s currently considered a half day park or not. I’d much rather visit an overall decent park with care for the guest experience and lightning fast operations like Dreamworld over a park that continuously frustrates guests like Movie World.

Mate I live in Ormeau, I know full well of the terrible traffic, it’s so bad now since when we built 6 years ago

Both the Good Lord and I reckon, there should be more focus on website quality and functionality and less attacks on other people for expressing a point of view!
