Convenient their announcement is coming just before the Dreamworld announcement.

Maybe, though I don’t see them really as competing parks tbh. Gumbuya are no doubt growing substantially and trying to position themselves in a the realm of big parks, they have a ways to go and their location and trying to get the jump on an announcement of a new attraction is likely to have zero impact on DW

Interesting. I can see it being waterslides given they did rides in 2022 and haven't added any in 5 years, I know the water area is very popular so they would want more to space out the crowds.

Going to be an exciting day for Gumbuya's new attraction and King Claw tomorrow.

I have to agree, they are in two different locations with very minimal overlap in attendance. Most of Australia knows what Dreamworld is and they get visitors from different state, while mostly Victorians would visit Gumbuya.

I mean it's not like it's the first time Gumbuya and Dreamworld have made a deal.

If Dreamworld are building 'King Claw' maybe they've bought the original claw?

(Maybe they can call it Project 1?)

I think you might be on to something here…

Unless it's an RMC or B&M I don't care.

I think you need to adjust your expectations for the Australian industry. While not impossible, it is very unlikely we’ll ever see either of those in the country. Therefore, ‘you won’t care’ about anything ever announced and it’s going to get very tiring very quickly if you share that opinion every single time. Don’t get me wrong, you’re more than welcome to share your opinion and I’m not saying it’s the wrong opinion, but just be mindful of if it’s necessary to publicly share it every time.

allegedly, Gumbuya’s “special announcement” was just that they were opening more pools.

The southern hemisphere’s biggest announcement tease flop (this year)

With Funfields opening their new Mystique Lazy River expansion this season, I’d say Gumbuya is desperately trying to drum up as much attention as it can get to take the focus off their competitors. If they were seriously getting any major additions this year, I’m sure we would have heard about them by now. Though I do think there’s a pretty good chance we’ll see some new investment next year in response to Funfields.
