to be fair, GL is planned maintenance and the off season is when you'd expect it.

Superman and Flash are unplanned, and unfortunately due to the placement of flash, problems with superman can potentially shut down flash too.

You've only posted three attractions, so I'm assuming DCR, JL, Batwing, Roxy, KT, WW & West were all operating?

Stopped by movieworld yesterday. GL, SE, FSF and KT were all closed - only expected GL due to maintenance, not sure about KT. DCR had a short delayed opening and FOTWW opened around 10:30 with a 60 minute wait…

Would hate to be paying for a day ticket when 5 out of 10 rides (excluding wb kids) are shut. I dont think hollywood stunt driver and roxy would make up for that lol.

What has gone wrong with Flash... seems like they're doing another train rebuild. (photos jaggs)

I wonder if this is why SE is closed...

i may be wrong but i’m pretty sure SE closed before flash. also, maybe i just didn’t notice it but it looked like Superman’s cable for the launch wasn’t attached.

Something’s definitely up with Superman, the launch cables are currently hanging down.

If you had a memory longer than a goldfish you'd have scrolled up. Don't put words in my mouth to start another circular argument.

While there are some times where SE would have to close due to FSF maintenance and vice versa, the vast majority of the time one ride is able to continue operating even if the other is down.

Only 3 of those were true, No Superman locker refurbishment done, DC Rivals still only 3/4 painted, and Oz, yes only 2 coasters (ones a duelling coaster that doesn’t duel) and as for the immersive theming? Yeah nah

Green Lantern was testing quite frequently this afternoon with it not meant to reopen until September 19th, i wonder if it will be reopening early due to the issues with Flash and Superman.

I could see that happening. There certainly was a lot of workers and activity on the site yesterday

Wire ropes get replaced on superman as preventative maintenance. Same as on batwing.

You can't see the internal structure as it's actually made up of multiple spiral strands of wire wrapping inner cores, themselves spiral wrapped forming an even larger inner core surrounded by outer spiral winds. Think of it more like multiple wire ropes surrounding multiple inner ropes spiral wrapped around to form the outer. Most of the reasonable cost testing machines run the length of the rope checking for variations in thickness with very fine tolerances or use very powerful magnets checking for deviations which indicate some sort of deformity (usually broken strands). The absolutely unreasonable machines basically xray the rope.

Alternatively, as preventative maintenance you can inspect it and replace it well before the next test date is required or the service life is reached.

These are the end stops holding the rope packed tightly. They are sandwiched between wear blocks and bolted into position to anchor them to things like the catch car.

I'm pretty sure the DCR painting got postponed last year because Superman shit the bed and they wanted DCR back online to fill the hole. So the locker upgrades got put on hold. This doesn't mean they've abandoned the idea... (although it doesn't mean they haven't either - if the money allocated for it in last year's budget got spent elsewhere, and they didn't allocate funds for this year, then it's stalled indefinitely.

Movie World have provided some insight into the closure of Superman on this post:

Thanks for taking an interest in our ride updates at Movie World. We are always working hard to give the best possible guest experience!

🎢 Attraction Update!
Superman Escape at #movieworldaus is currently experiencing a closure. During this time, our team are working with the ride manufacturer in Europe to build, deliver and install the highest quality replacement parts.

🤔Did you Know?
This iconic attraction is one of the last remaining hydraulic launch coasters in the world, making its components extremely unique, with replacement parts needing to be specially created by the ride manufacturer. While this process takes time, it ensures that when Superman Escape returns, it does so with the highest level of safety and performance.

💚 Further Attraction Updates!
Our incredible maintenance team have completed Green Lantern Coaster’s annual maintenance ahead of schedule, and we’re excited to share this attraction is now open for guests to enjoy again.

Plus, later this year Australia’s no.1 family coaster SCOOBY-DOO! Spooky Coaster is returning to the park, we will be opening a new dining experience and also something that will blow you away with an all-new entertainment offering to be announced soon!

We understand these unplanned closures are frustrating but our team are working diligently to reopen the attraction as soon as safely possible and we will keep you updated on Superman Escape’s triumphant return date.

Sounds like the same thing as last year, a 3 month closure. The rides at the end of its life, I wonder how much time its got left... are they waiting for scooby to reopen? I'd imagine that these parts would be very very expensive due to the limited installations of the model, and it's back to back years now.
