Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013

Who's blaming the government? They would have drafted a script and VRTP would have just said sweet, you can refer to it as the best rollercoaster in the country if you want. U think the tourism office of any state/country in the world doesn't embellish the truth about what they are promoting?

Well it's very early December and it's just before queensland school holidays start. It's not really based on anything, it's just my opinion.

Gdalby is on the mark I reckon. In the space of a week Sea World have gone from declaring an opening of December to "early December" to "very early December". The first full weekend of December (6-7) sounds good to me!

Of course embellishment is the nature of PR people - however Dreamworld had a say in this advertisement too... you don't think the wording wouldn't have been haggled over and agreed to, so that one group didn't get an unfair advantage in the advertisements over the other?

7 December is a good target based on the 'early' or 'very early' statements. the weekend after that is 'mid december'. Of course, nothing says the opening day has to be a weekend, and it may be smart to soft open on a weekday so you have less crowds to manage the ride through it's paces as a rehearsal for the weekend rush - but for some reason, VRTP likes to open it's rides on the busiest day possible (boxing day for some rides in the past), so why not a saturday, rather than a thursday?

Please be the first full week of December (next week)... I happen to have the week off so can get in and enjoy :)

The Theme Park Capital ads are POOR. No thought put into them whatsoever. All they do is rattle of a list of OLD attractions like Tiger Island, Superman Escape and the Tower of Terror (yes, the voiceover just refers to TOT & doesn't even mention the fact it is now TOT2 with a whole new experience, although there is a quick shot of the new logo). Considering these ads are targeting interstate visitors who may not have been to the parks for a while, why wouldn't you mention all of the new rides? Green Lantern, Arkham, Justice League, Buzzsaw etc....

With qld private schools schools on holidays from tomorrow, I'm sure they will look to utilise a busy period, prior to the full school holidays as a soft opening. Thurs/fri of next week would be my estimate

Not all private schools are starting holidays tomorrow. Some still have a week or so left.

Some private schools holidays start tomorrow, the rest are next week and all state schools in Queensland finish the following week.

They might announce it on December 1st

When you load up Sea World's website the storm is the first thing shown. The info had been updated as well:

Ride out the storm this December on an awesome new coaster that the whole family will enjoy. Hold on tight as you face a 20 metre wave on dry land. Can you brave an extraordinary fire while drenched in water? Be prepared to ride the perfect storm, without a single cloud!

hmm... I wonder what would happen if it was raining... 'without a single cloud' wouldn't be true then

i think there will be water spraying in the first part of the ride and then you obviously get wet in the splash down part. Then there will be the fire affects were a boat will be exploding, etc.
