After a bit of rehashing through this thread, I am convinced AndrewH aka Xenon is a troll... he can't even seem to keep up with all the blatant contradictions posted between the two accounts he has been using on this forum between last year and today. The dates of the posts speak for themselves.

How does closing Kevil Hill even save that much money... it's a one-staff-member attraction. Surely one staff member's wages can't fund the refurbishment of eureka.

depends... could be a really shitty refurbishment...

 

or perhaps that was just to fund the cost of installing an extra 'Andrew-proof' upper door panel on the exit gate

Kevil Hill was only closed in off-peak periods, and I'm pretty sure the reason they closed it is because during those times it's too hard to get the minimum 10-person per game requirement during those times.

All I am going to say from reading what OceanGirl posted, Xexon did get the cyclone makeover and new train correct. So maybe that source could be accurate???

He also said something was happening inside Eureka, whilst also saying nothing will happen with Eureka.

To explaind on alexB's comments. 

I don't know anything about any anniversar plans but hey it would make sense if they could.

 

But I would think about the fact that it obviously closed and stayed closed for a reason. Whatever that reason was can't be a small minor detail so removing that reason obviously would take a lot of planning, testing, design, fabrication, installation, testing, adjusting, rebrabrication when it likely doesn't all work first go, certification and then opening. 

Thats YEARS of full time work, and given this is likely a bit of a side project, maybe more.

Good point but I think as we are in the EUREKA MINE RIDE forum he would be referring to the area where eureka is Town of Gold Rush.

Well DW doesn't really like to let cat out of bag even if they did know if it's going to reopen this year.

I emailed DW today to ask about the mine ride but got the same answer as per usual just keep a look out on the website and Facebook page.

So do that if you didn't know already.

Even if the Mine Ride didn't reopen. I was told by one of the Park Staff (maybe a month ago) that it will always be there even if not operating, because when it was built; it was built along side the Thunder River Rapids. Each ride needs each other.
