I think the bit towards the end of the attached statement makes it clear they have no plans for a new dark ride as yet.

Question - I apologise if this is insensitive in anyway.

Why do you think there is still black plastic in the area on the lift-hill where the accident occured? Out of respect for the families? Part of investigation? Something relating to the structure?

I haven't seen it, so i'm only speculating - but depending on how and why it was put up in the first place, it could be just that nobody ever saw a need to take it down, or otherwise perhaps it is there to shield the scene from the helicopters - there may be something grisly left behind, or they may just not want that particular spot shot by the news cameras....

Well there was white sheets there immediately after the accident for obvious sensitivity reasons.

as for the black sheeting you see now, it’s only a guess but I’d take a stab that maybe the entire conveyer was covered in this after the investigation to have it non visible from the air or vantage points based on it largely being the focal point of the accident.

several months of elemental effects (or more likely the ripper storms of last week) have torn, removed some of these. 

When I rode the giant drop about 8 months ago you could see everything then about 4 months ago it was all covered up

 

When I was there in December 2016 there was no cover on it.

Demoliton is occuring at the cave section of the ride 

One of the props that was in the closed area have been brought out 

Now onto the demolition pictures 

TRR Demolition: From what I saw on the Buzzsaw, parts of the cave have been exposed while some parts remain enclosed, station area remains intact for now

They have also demolished the cave/waterfall near Billabong restaurant in the last few days,

Basically seems DW is demolishing any of these structures built years ago that needed to be maintained to stay safe because well they didn't bother to maintain them...

Dont be fooled into thinking this or the log ride cave was removed for sight line reasons. Its because they were unsound because the park doesn't do adequate maintenance on anything. 

That would be why the train isn't operating. Thanks JWorld.

...seriously needs some screening fencing. Unless mud and wheelie bins are a new theme?

Demolition can be seen from the DW carpark

And from the correct angle, you can see inside the Chairlift station

Chairstation is completely gone 

And TRR’s station remains intact again

Unless they caged it up so you wouldn’t stick your hand into the construction site. Someone could lose an arm you know.

Update time: 

The station area is nearly gone 

Conveyer belt has now been removed and is sitting there in rubble 

Whole Ride is now drained as originally some parts of the ride still were full of water 

Hollywood House as also been removed now 

Managed to get a few shots into the site which I will upload later
