It's great they did all of that stuff, but a shame they didnt fixed the effects (Unless they have, and it was just today they were having some issues because the road only just reopened).

Was the ride open all day and has it officially reopened now, or was it more of a test day? And won't officially reopen until the weekend?

The Sidewinder has now also been removed from the WnW attraction listing and is no longer on the maintenance listing either. Looks like the entire Mach 5 tower is no more.

  • Seriously. Like is that park so Shit they can’t maintain a piece of metal that slowly rotates?

Hopefully they have fixed the effects and it was just a soft reopening. Still states it's down for maintenance on the website so one can hope. Can't wait to ride it again though.

Movieworld has some events for the commonwealth games?

Not Movie World, the Studios do though. The boxing, squash and table tennis are being held in some of the sound stages.

They are also referring to the studios as the “Oxenford Studios” for the games, not the “Village Roadshow Studios”.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question :)

"Until Further" notice you say SW? Hmmm..

I wonder if this is SW just being cautious to not over promise and under deliver OR it is for the full removal of VR and starting work on the new ride? Timing seems about right.

But why would they have to close ray reef and penguin encounter for the removal of VR they are so far apart. This is not great for Sea-world with their biggest attraction and multiple exhibits closing there must be something big going on. Hope they do whatever they are doing quickly and get everything open. Sorry to ask but what is OR?

it's literally just 'or' but in capitals.

Occasionally, looking at an overhead view may help to visualise it.

RED line is the VR track
RED shadowing is a broad access area surrounding the track - not the ride envelope, but a reasonable assumption of space needed to demolish the attraction
PINK line is the likely route for demolition vehicles and similar to access the area
BLUE area is the Penguin Point exhibit (you might be thinking of Penguin Encounter at the front of the park)
GREEN area is Ray Reef
YELLOW area is Storm Coaster.

I think given the maintenance dates, its fairly obvious what's happening... although Skeet's updated dates that ive just seen might indicate differently...

Village Roadshow Studios does (which is next door to MW). They have table tennis, squash, and boxing.

Whoops, just realised that already got answered.
