Bigger and brighter than ever before, the brand-new lightshow, a dazzling celebration of light, colour and music, returns to Sea World to create a magnificent illumination over the iconic Sea World lake. The stunning display of lighting sculptures is set to contemporary music to create an awe-inspiring spectacle over the water. Returning with an unprecedented use of technology and brilliance this year, the all new Aquacolour Spectacular is a must-see this Summer.

I’m glad to hear they are already doing a new Aqua Spectacular and not just running the same show as last year.

If you look on the events map also, Star Flyer is labelled as an attraction, despite not yet being listed on the attractions page for the event

Sigh. Only 6 dates all of which missĀ peak the peak of peakĀ season.Ā Was also hoping they were going to do a night show with a bit more substance to it than just LAZERS AND FOUNTAINS but the public ate it up last year so can't blame them.Ā  Seems very phoned in.

Ā

How about this though; Just as an experiment, why not try doing one AquacolourĀ show at 7.30 with rides till 7.00 for the 2 weeks after boxing day included in admission?Ā  All the crap is there for the show anyway and running all the rides for an extra 2 hours costs all of $1000 so not exactly going to break the bank. If you manage to sell <100 burger meals to the 2,000 odd peopleĀ in the top terraceĀ who might stick around you'll make that back. So go on, do something just a tiny bit above the bare minimum, just to mix thingsĀ up a bit.

Ā

EDIT: Also no Monorail.Ā Can you try even just a little bit?

That would require a single staff member, you cant expect that ;)Ā . I found the omission ofĀ Penguin Encounter more ridiculous, at first I thought they may have just forgotten to put it in the exhibit page but it is also not listed on the park map.

The problem with the aqua colour show is there are so many other free events with something similar on now. Brisfest and Vivid are two examples from last year of something as good as if not better than what's being put on.

Vivid is in Sydney so isn’t really catering for or attracting the same audience. It’s unlikely that many of the people attending Aquacolour would also be attending Vivid.Ā

I liveĀ on the GC and never knew Brisfest offered much other than Riverfire. I’ve now seen that they do a river of lights show, however it certainly hasn’t been well promoted down the coast if it’s been around long.Ā

True, but Aquacolour is part of bigger experience in Carnivale.Ā

Carnivale is marketed pretty well imo.Ā

They could certainly incorporate Aquacolour better into that program, but I don’t see competing water/light shows taking away from the appeal of CarnivaleĀ

Summed up beautifully in one pic how half arsed this all is. Old MW parade float randomly placed in a garden bed,Ā  withĀ an A Frame still up advertising when the dolphin shows were on during the day.
