Temporary fencing has gone up around the entrance of the log ride

with demolition probably about to happen hope they have a plan for the area and not just demolish it and leave it there. being such a big site it could be perfect for a dark ride or a good thrill ride.

I’d say the area will be cleared and then a survey completed so that they can begin to figure out what sort of attraction could go there, costs, site works, etc 

The building by the Log Flume (Cafe/Photo Booth) got completely demolished this evening by a digger. Was quite sad... Will upload a video later tonight.

That area is on the side of the swamp. Once the ground work is done, its going to have to sit vacant while the ground settles. Could be a few years before they do anything with an attraction on it. Dont be surprised if they turn it into a picnic area!

All that'll remain in terms of untouched opening day stuff will be a bunch of facades.

@Slick and even they have all been touched. Some more than others

A point he brought up in the video is how are they going to reach the lift hill and drop with the water. my guess is that the building taped off next to the ride is being used as a machine of some sort to suck up the water from the middle of the ride so the demo crew can reach it.

Here's a few pics from today. No noticeable work seems to have been done since yesterday.

It will be interesting to see how much they remove. Does everyone think they’ll drain the water storage and fill it in like they did with river rapids?

Im expecting to see most, if not all of the rides buildings and lift hill to be removed

This could be completely wrong, but maybe the noises you heard from the shed at RHLR was the pumps controlling the water level. If they had turned them off since the ride retired, the filters and pumps might have clogged with debris and they wouldn't be able to drain the ride without external equipment.

If this is true, then DW should definitely not say “look at our shaded seating area” and should say a future attraction is coming soon. I think it’s great they are removing the ride rather than waiting until they are ready to build something new. Maybe a sign in the area to say, “exciting new attraction coming soon”. And if they publicly say, we’ve got a new shaded seating area, then follow it with but a new attraction is coming 

Picnic area?? There is nowhere to buy food from nearby, and you can’t take eskys in - so who is having a picnic or eating there??

Do you know if this includes the old water park being that it can be seen from the new coaster?

Didn't even remove the pump motors, just ripped them out.

Me too!! I just had to include that shot 😂

Meanwhile i'm just impressed with the excavator operator not only wading through at least a foot of water, but also balancing the tracks on the unsecured rocks as it tries to not accidentally run into raised rampways. 

Still think it should've been refurbed in the short term. 🤷🏻‍♂️
