  1. Just so we are all on the same page, you said, 'In a scarily similar / eerie situation'. The ride has a scarily similar name to Thunder River Rapids. You didn't explicitly state it but you were maliciously implying it. I feel most people that have read this understand that you were clearly trying to link the two events together due to similarities in name and the fact you clearly highlighted it, that is just how its read. If that wasn’t your intention, then you've worded it wrong, not everyone else misreading it. There’s really no other logical way to read it given the wording and associated connection you established.
  2. Nor can you speak for how the reader interpreted your use of language. Myself, and clearly others, interpreted it as you loosely linking this incident to the Dreamworld tragedy. Remove the first six words of your initial post, and it becomes a different message. Upon reading those first few words, I began assuming you had copy-pasted a media article.
  3. Sure, I'll end it at this. You said “scarily similar / eerie situation” and in a later post highlighted specific similarities between the two attractions. That naturally leads people to draw a comparison (as other uses have made posts), which in fact you did yourself based of inferences other people made to TRR! To some extent this was a bit ludicrous however, when these events are brought up in the media it is usually fear mongering and you've attempted to achieve a similar result here. Also I thought we were showing off how many adverbs we could use in each sentence, must've misread the room. I don’t need a dictionary, I never said similar means the same. My point is about how your wording comes across and how it reads to others. If you genuinely didn't mean to imply then this has been a misunderstanding however it took 3 people (including myself) and probably a couple of lurkers also thought the same.
  4. You can’t speak for my intent. Nothing I said was malicious - and the accusation of such is utterly ridiculous Once again, “similar” does not equal “same”. Get a dictionary
  5. Both raft rides ✅ Raft stuck at bottom of conveyor ✅ Secondary raft impacts first raft ✅ 3 x ✅ = similar a water ride needing to be evac’d as it takes on water = scary / eerie for those on board. If you think this would be scary to see for the general public… Similar and the same are 2 different things, if you can’t understand the English language, that’s on you
  6. At no point was I implying that it was the same thing as TRRR
  7. Scarily? Please. Let's not be too dramatic. The difference here is the conveyor is an actual belt rather than slats. You can also see the belt stops moving right at the end of the video extremely quickly. Rafts are supposed to stop at the bottom of the conveyor. Something has occurred here that shouldn't have that has lead to the raft in front being swamped, but you can see in the evac that that raft is inclined and on the belt, so my guess is the evaced raft was lifted out after it was empty leaving the swamped one behind. It's not ideal. but the comments on the original video are more concerned about the guy wearing timberlands than any serious safety concern. The only people hyping this up are people referencing dreamworld and we've already done to death why dreamworld's installation is nothing like the intamin installs overseas.
