  1. I think the queues (and obviously the lane) will be heavily story driven, but once you’re on the coasters themselves will just have theming around them but you won’t necessarily feel the story while riding it. While I think Jungle Rush will set up the story in the land and queue, but the story will be told when you’re on the ride.
  2. I did consider those, but Eureka I think was just themed around being in a mine cart through a mountain. Thunder Rapids had a partial story in the cave where there were two guys trying to escape from jail. And then Big Red Car, not sure if there was a specific story or if it was just you being taken through the Wiggles House. But in comparison to what Jungle Rush could be (from what I’ve heard), there will be a proper story and that will be integral to the ride experience. Hopefully what I’ve heard is true, but I’m going to keep my expectations neutral just in case.
  3. The text colour on the Fright Nights website has recently changed from red to neon green
  4. Or the Looney Tunes River Ride. Or Batman Adventure. Or Gremlins. If it does, will this be Dreamworld first ever ride with a proper story integrated into the ride. Obviously we won’t know for sure until it opens, but let’s say it does have a well considered and portrayed story. I don’t think any ride at DW has ever had a proper story that’s integral to the ride… unless I’m forgetting something.
  5. I think something simple like this would be great for MW, but knowing VRTP, they’d probably charge for it (If it was only $5 pp then I wouldn’t have an issue with it). Sea World needs it more though because that park is in desperate need of some kind of transport option. The parks layout and inclines probably means it wouldn’t work, but come on Village, you need to do something. But I also think a trolley would be awesome to see at DW. Would suit the park really nicely and chime in to that nostalgia.
  6. Every time I’ve ever gone to Fright Nights (probably about 8 years I’ve been) I’ve always managed to do every maze at least once without any fast track. And some years I’ve been able to do at least one ride. You should go to White Christmas then, or visit the park during the Heroes and Villains event because the parks open a little longer and it’s dark before the park closes (because it’s winter).
  7. I’m still not opposed to them revising their original expansion master plan they developed well over a decade ago. The introduction of a lazy river another slide tower (with at least two solid new attractions) and a simple kids zone would do the park nicely. The issue with a lazy river (and maybe this is why we haven’t yet seen the park build one) is that it requires a more life guards compared to a slide attraction. And if the park doesn’t get the crowds that it needs to warrant the amount of life guards required, the park may not see it as a worthwhile investment. However, I’d disagree with that argument, as I’m sure having one would help boost attendance. I’m certain a lot of people will visit WnW over WWW because of the lazy river.
  8. It's shell is still there, but I don't think they could just simply turn back on. As far as I'm aware it would need a lot of work to bring it back online and I don't think the park has any plans to do so. WnW has had enough issues trying to find an operator and to get their's back online and it still has issues, so from DW management's perspective, it probably won't be worth it.
  9. I don’t it’s that people are confused which park it’s in. I think it’s more that there’s nothing else in that corner of the park and its entrance sign is easily missed. Once you get to Tailspin it just looks like a dead end. When it was Cyclone they didn’t have this issue because of the other rides in that area and Flowrider attracted people to that corner. I do agree that a directional sign near Tailspin letting guests know Gold Coaster entrance is down there might help. But also, the park’s demographic has changed in the last decade. It used to be the place to go for teenagers/thrill seekers, while the park is now more tailored towards families.
  10. I’d argue that in this case, they should want to expand the park more so that they can make it a full day park. Guests visit DW day and WWW the other, therefore there’s the opportunity for more profit because guests may pay for food, souvenirs and any up charges twice.
  11. I disagree. I think the parks will want to continue their trajectory and add a new attraction/s. MW have grown the reputation of having all their rides closed, so by adding another ride (and with the reopening of Scooby), they’ll see that as a way to win people back over (even though I believe the heart of the problem is poor maintenance management). DW will also want to continue their trajectory of investing in more attractions (or even a new land). The crowds are really starting to return to the park in the last year and I think that’s because they’ve been investing large amounts of money (almost yearly). The park had grown the reputation of they’ve removed everything and theirs nothing to do, so they need to put that to bed completely. I get the feeling Village is pretty happy with the line-up with Sea World right now. I think there is definitely more the park could do and needs in its line-up, but it’s the most attractions the park has had in more than a decade. It really is! And despite the opening of four attractions in 2021 they have since then lost Surfrider, Aqualoop, SkyCoaster and Flowrider is rarely open. I see Aqualoop has the best viable location for a new attraction. But I think WWW is that poor cousin too because other than Fully 6 (4), it hasn’t had a decent investment in over a decade. The park wide refurbishment was a decent investment, but it needs that expansion that’s been spoken about for many years now. They have also lost Wedgie and I don’t think Triple Vortex has been open for several seasons. Absolutely and I think this will be there focus alongside (or soon after) Scooby. I’m really hoping to see something open on the former rocky hollow site as that is really the most lacking corner of the park and makes the Giant Drop feel like it’s not even a part of the park. If they built a new ramp to remove all of spaghetti junction they have a lot of land, and even more if they finally demolished Blue Lagoon. I’d to see a new thrill attraction that makes people want to visit the park to just ride that and then compliment it with a smaller family attraction (even if it’s a flat ride), so they can create a new ‘land’
  12. To clarify it wasn’t a single large tank, it was a lot of smaller tanks. Similar to the size of the reptile/frog displays inside the Bilby Centre at Dreamworld.
  13. Don’t give them the idea, this would be a terrible change. And the rides just has some upgrades to the launch system (hence the unexpected closure before the last school holiday)
  14. Probably because it costs money to demolish and they currently don’t have any immediate plans to use that space that require it to be cleared. They demolished the former Big Brother stage that was next to it
  15. The Minions Land will be opening in 2025 https://www.facebook.com/share/VU1kehS7KUsbwMXk/?mibextid=WC7FNe And the park has released a bunch of render of the land
  16. If it is going to be closed for most of the year, I’m glad they’ve taken the fencing down because it looks terrible.
  17. It wouldn’t surprise me. Keep them open for a little longer while Giant Drop and Play School Wheel are closed. A very sensible management decision.
  18. The maintenance for the Play School Wheel has been extended by a month The Giant Drop has closed unexpectedly for a couple of days The maintenance for The Claw and Kenny’s Forest Flyer was supposed to start today but has been pushed back a few weeks And rather than having a reopening date the vintage cars just say ‘temporarily closed’
  19. Quite a few rides are closed from today for maintenance, but interestingly there’s a couple that seem to be just closed for today. There are also a couple of attractions closing from tomorrow and then a few in August. Going to be a busy maintenance period for Sea World during this school term!
  20. I’m sure it will be, but hopefully they improve it. The park has been known to improve on some pages in previous years when they return if there were things that weren’t working. In saying that, there has been years when bad mazes haven’t been changed at all, or good mazes have been adjusted to make them not as good. Fingers crossed though. This is very exciting!
  21. Movie World are looking for scare actors for Fright Nights, which confirms this years event will be on October 5, 11, 12, 18. 19, 25, 26 and 31. https://calendly.com/evolutionmanagement/maze-presenter-rove-performer-audition
  22. Might put into perspective how massive this project and the investment is. Potentially they’ve needed multiple design contractors and fabricators to be spread across the land and its attractions.
  23. I haven’t heard of Earthstory before this project, but I get the feeling you don’t like them very much?
  24. I don’t like the situation either, but whether you’re being biased or not, the technology now exists, it’s only going to get better and people will sadly be loosing their jobs. It’s the unfortunate reality in most cases.
