Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement

Yeah i'm not talking the majors (though they clearly have them also) - i'm talking the non-franchised parks too.

These days there are devices that are not so easily fucked with. Perhaps a bubbler is a bit old school, and something like this would be more to your taste?

1. The queues don't get nearly as long (ok maybe they do but that's an operations issue not a "this park is so damn full of people we need to cater to basic human needs) and 2. I don't trust Gold Coast people to not do something fucking nasty with those bubblers because they're in a dark queue and think it's funny/cool to rub their two brain cells together and piss in a drinking fountain... or worse.

At movie world yes they do it’s not even a contest. I’d argue at the busiest of times it’s even worse than the likes of Disneysea/usj but you are correct it’s because the operations are painfully slow.

It’s a bigger sample size sure but I’ve seen longer lines for rivals than the wait times I experienced for journey to the centre of the earth (which was the busiest thing there on my visit and the lines were no longer than 2 and a quarter hours throughout the day). Thankfully rivals has the single rider line and I can dodge it for the most part.

There are cameras everywhere in an indoor queue id say its pretty easy to get caught pissing in a water fountain, and you’d get the kick instantly for it.

Yeah you're not wrong. Someone pulled a lot of online data for park queues around the world and the top 10 parks around the world for longest queues included the big disney parks, universal, and little old movie world.

VRTP's aspiration has always been to be like Disney and Universal, job done I guess.

As much as I appreciate how prevalent water "bubblers" are in the queues of most major rides in the Japanese Disneyland/Sea parks and even some Universal Studios rides there's two things making me think they aren't necesary in Australian park queues. 1. Honestly fair its no secret the Gold Coast is a shit show when it comes to crime and just people tbh.

Only a month ago a guy was chasing people with a hammer in the Dreamworld carpark🤣

At least data seems to back up my observation from 1 visit. At least when I lined up for enchanted tale of beauty and the beast there were things to look at throughout while rivals has pretty much nothing.

People at village most likely read these forums and have engaged with us in the past. At this point dreamworld will need to get back to 2014-2015 crowds (which is going to take a while) in order for anything to change

everytime i’ve drove by or visited the park lately the car park has been completely full, it seems like they’re actually doing really well now and it’s good to see. i wouldn’t be shocked if those old numbers are pulled again very soon.

Dreamworld don't need to show high performing numbers, village just needs theirs to drop. they would budget based on forecast attendance - if their attendance drops, that should be enough to kick them in the pants.
