Does the Trident at Sea World operate in strong winds?

Featured Replies

The Trident is supposed to officially open today, but with expected to reach over 50km/h, will the attraction operate?

Im sure the manufacturer designs and builds the ride so the seats don’t swing uncontrollably, but does anyone know what the wind speed limit would be on this type of attraction?

SeaWorld normally has pretty high winds due to its location so i’m sure they’ve put that into consideration when choosing the manufacturer, it was apparently testing yesterday which i believe was stronger winds so it should be fine today.

I’m in line at the entrance and the winds are extreme almost 40km/h and I have doubts on trident opening today especially when it could reach over 60km/h wind.

They’ve just begun announcing that at the park, it supposedly won’t open at all today (even if winds die down)

Common occurrence with Sky Flyers, we usually have to close ours with high winds, just not worth it when seats come close to hitting each other. I usually pull the pin around 40km winds.

Seeing Trident yesterday, it doesn't look like they've finished commissioning. Winds or no, I doubt it would have opened yesterday regardless - have we even seen human testing or has it only been cycling empty?

They wouldn't be posting on instagram that it is opening on the specified date and have staff on the ride if it weren't commissioned.

From what i’ve heard, no staff have ridden yet as final testing is still needed to be done, this was meant to be done during the week and on Thursday for a Friday opening but it wasn’t due to winds. They’re currently just waiting for the winds to die down so they can conduct the final tests, should be done by the end of the week.

It could explain why the majority of marketing was for Leviathan only, as they were unsure if it would be o ready to open in time.
